@@KaruesellHQ Karue, are you going to be traveling with Marcos this season? Or are you going to focus on going to your own tournaments? Love the channel by the way
Marcos is such a strong player and a well deserved, hard fought #60. Watching him, you just get even more in awe of those very top players and what more it can take to move up and stay up. Putting in the hard work and dedication is certainly working for you both. All the best to you guys in 2024
Mr Karue is using the body and rotating the shoulders into the ball, Its good technique. Pushing away with strong legs and rotating into the shot. 70-80?+kg will always win against a tennisball of what 36 gram (these days)? Help me out here i havent played for 15 years. How much does a T-ball weigh today?
Hey Karue. This is good motivation for us folks who are in winter states. I played college tennis and I'm now 48... I can keep up with some of the good juniors but when winter comes motivation is tough. I would really like to see more of these type of videos in terms of training and maybe even longer snippets. I think it's important for folks to see the organic nature of practice versus the rigid expectations that some folks have when they take lessons, etc. You can't have rhythm by being rigid. Also... You need a nickname. I've always marveled at how efficient your strokes are.... But maybe it's something to get some interaction from the comment section. I vote for Karue Smooth lol
I have the utmost respect for these guys, because I know first hand the incredible hard work & dedication you need to play at this level, but as solid as Giron is, he just doesn't seem to have a big weapon to do any real damage with. He is a tenacious player and a great competitor, but he needs a shot he can do some real damage with. I do wish him the best this year and hope he does well.
I like the fact that there's a coach teaching some beginner lessons on the next court. And some kids playing casual tennis on the other court. And on this court no 46 in the world is banging the ball like mad. I wish I can have even atp 10000 hitting next to me at my local club. Some guy used to tell me how hard it is to get even 1 atp point.
Damn, those aluminum bats reminds me of my younger days spending all day at the park. For me, it was tennis from 8am to 2pm and then baseball from 3-5pm during the summers. Miss those days in 97.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I really NEEDED this, these tips and comments about how to practice, how to view errors during practices, and how to frame practices in one's mind.
Marcos forehand timing is amazing. From the start of take back to the finish he has a 100% continuous no-hitch swing whereas Karue takes back slow then explodes forward with a very obvious Federer-like racket flip. Both are great of course.
Sinner has a short swing and long follow through. Very similar. I really like that, too. I actually think Karue's game is a touch more solid in technique. Maybe Karue needs to play consistently higher opponents to give himself that exposure to faster / deeper shots, but I think he's 100% in the mix for a top 100 shot himself, if only he plays the right tournaments and trains with the right players.
I think the way we hit tennis balls it’s pretty much the same, the biggest change is the distance to the ball every time. That’s why Footwork’s important. I got this inspiration from a basketball player
@MyTennisHQ Thank you for this excellent content. Really a pleasure to watch you and Giron go at it. It would be really interesting to get your take on what, if anything, separates a player at Marcos's level (well inside top 100) from a player at your level (well inside top 1000). Or put differently, what are the things you think you need to work on to move higher in the rankings? Technically, you two seem very close. He is a little more explosive and maybe has a bigger serve, but any differences are at the margins, and you have advantages on him as well. Is the main difference just that he's been competing, while you've been coaching and doing other things, and if you keep playing at the challenger level, you'll naturally move up? Or are there specific things you can point to? I love your game and your approach to competing. Best of luck this year.
Loved it!!! Thank you K! You guys make it look too easy. Happy New Year, and thank you for all you do for our beloved sport. Marcos is top quality and so are you K. Cheers, M
I imagine little at this stage but Marcos has the fitness and health to manage those skills for longer. Also the willingness to “live” on tour which is incredibly unglamorous and don’t believe Karue is interested in at this point in his life were it even possible.
look at man's backhand. work of art. and for once i'm not talking about karue (though also nice ofc). Giron has so much torque. so much depth and he's so obviously a crazy strong dude. you can tell he's putting all of those leg days to generate huge power starting from his feet all the way through the racket. he's like the great Mikey Garcia (boxer) of tennis. strong, solid, perfect fundamentals. wish you all the best on 2024 season, marcos.
Hey Karue, would it be possible to share what happened with your coaching relationship with Marcos? Maybe a question for coaching corner? We never get insight on the coach player relationship. @@biglenny8258 not even close is an exageration, top 100 players can lose to future level players some days . Karue has the talent to reach top 100 for my eyes if he beefs up his physique and becomes more athletic, quicker and stronger
@@angerisdiscipline3913 I would agree with that. Marcos's movement is obviously on another level compared to Karue. I think Karue also needs to beef up the serve slightly, judging by how Marcos was returning. Besides that, Karue has what it takes to make a good push-up in the rankings.
Karue has been 371. And the fact that he didn't reach a higher position has nothing to do with the level of tennis. So many factors decide your ceiling. Of which one obvious one is financial possibilities. In his case, like in so many aspiring players, this was the number one reason he couldn't continue his journey. For these type of players (level wise) they could all reach the top 100. It's staying in the top 100 whats really hard. Whether he can make it to the top 100 this time...
