- The closure of my bank was illegal and I have the proof. Even though the IRS/J5 investigated my bank for over two years, and found no evidence that it did anything wrong, the IRS interfered with the sale of my bank to Qenta, which the OCIF Commissioner would have otherwise approved, so the J5 and the media could pretend that its failed investigation was a success. The IRS had no authority to shut down my bank, so agents got OCIF to make up an excuse to do to it for them. IRS internal emails confirm that on or before April 4th of 2022 the IRS got OCIF to agree to hold a press conference on June 30/July 1, to announce the closure of my bank. The J5 was formed on July 1st, 2018. IRS Chief Jim Lee began his prepared remarks at that conference by stating "four years ago this week" the J5 was formed. So the closure of my bank, and the press conference to announce it was secretly planned months in advance to commemorate the 4-year anniversary of the formation of the J5. Clearly the IRS/J5 not only picked the date of the press conference, but was responsible for the decision to close the bank, even though they had no cause or jurisdiction to do so.

I totally forgot to talk about the weakness is the Japanese Yen. The 160 level is key. The weak yen is what propped up the dollar today. The BOJ is keeping rates near zero and continuing it's QE program. Disaster awaits. I also forgot to mention that the Press Conference was scheduled in June to coincide with the 5-yer anniversary of the formation of the J5.

The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. I would avoid index funds, mutual funds, and specific stocks for the time being. Right now, the best option is a fixed income of five percent. Put money aside for the times when the market really starts to bounce back.

How far does that ideology go? If my car appreciates nominally 100% year, do I need to pay taxes on it year after year? What about my clothes? Or my plates? Everything you own will appreciate if inflation is high enough...
Yes, the price of your vehicle tabs is based partly on the inflated (?) value of the vehicle.
I have a small convertible and they charge me extra for excess weight of the vehicle, if you can believe that!

If you own anything and there's significant inflation then you could potentially face a tax bill on anything you own based on the governments calculation of how much it has nominally increased in value.

My house has doubled in value since I bought it. The property taxes are bad enough, if there was a unrealized gains tax it would ruin me financially for sure.

The 2% inflation target is here so they can monetize the debt every year. The 'problem' with a 0% inflation is that it's a missed opportunity to print money.

@@ryanwhitley9789Paying off the debt, is the production of "money" though... The issue is credit. Credit usage needs to slow down, but it won't, because credit is being used to subsidize inflation. It's getting really tricky and the dam is soon to burst if credit usage doesn't slow down.

It seems that cooperatives must develop between sane, compassionate, trusted property owners and sane, readable/reliable trusting renters. Or will greed persist everywhere? Lucky are the long time renters who are not being gouged by their long time landlord.

I started buying a bunch of gold/silver miners and oil producers in December 23. I’m quite happy with my choices so far (especially new mint and pan American!) and I don’t think we’ve seen anything yet.

The whole ordeal about ypur bank is infuriating
Europac gold fund is at the same price is was in 2016, when gold was ~1200, and they haven't paid a distribution in two years, but you still get changed almost 2% annually. Meanwhile, BTC was at ~700, it's now at 60k. And the S&P was at ~2000, it's at ~5100 now. I feel bad for anyone that that lost value staying in that fund and missed out on life changing gains in other places.

Keep digging Peter. We have freedom of information for government (including the ATO) over here in Australia. It possibly won't be redacted like in the US. You may be able to gain information on conversations between the ATO and the IRS
If the government had it's way, it would gobble up private industry. It's way too big now and unless you issue mas layoffs and eliminate letter departments, it will keep growing. Any business it can't control, it regulates it away. That's why we have no Steel industry to speak of. The Rust Belt was the industrial center and the largest employers, now their mearly a shadow of what it was. China and India have benefited greatly, soon they will eat our lunch.

Peter, Note, back in the 70's, when gold was rallying, the mining stocks were lagging as well, same as today. You might note, that gold followed a classic Elliott wave trend, and check how the mining stocks fared after gold really took off. No guarantee, but so far gold is trending in similar fashion...

I didn't realize newmont jumped, I am sitting on a nice call option of 38% now. I got a lot more on pan american silver.

@@maximumliberty You know miner stock options premiums where dirt cheap, probably still are and I went out to 2026 and I went just in the money. Theory being that no way miners are going lower. The market is constantly changing real and maybe the opportunity isn't there anymore. I personally played it against AI which was insanely risky but worked out well.
