Subhan’Allah! As a Somali who grew up in America I completely agree with the journey your under took my dear sister. I’ve always said to myself, if you want to know who’s on the side of God in any society simply look at what are their popular phrases when it comes to God. For example, in America whenever God is mention people say the following words without even realizing the blasphemous undertones….
      1. Goddamn
What are you saying damn to? God!
      2. Holy Sh!t
What are you saying sh!t to? Anything Holy
      3. Holy Crap
What are you saying crap to? Anything Holy
      4. Jesus f@&king Christ
Why are you insulting Prophet Jesus name by using curse word?
      5. Even when someone wants to show you how much they agree with you, they say, HELL YEA!
What are you saying yes to? To hell.
May Allah forgive anyone who was not aware of it.
Now, if we compare this to Muslim countries, you’ll find the most popular phrases to be…
      1. Alhamdulillah = Praise Be To God
      2. Subhan’Allah = Glory Be To God
      3. Allahu Akbar = God Is The Greatest
      4. Astaghfirullah = I Seek Forgiveness From God
      5. Insha’Allah = God Willing
This is the reason why I truly want to move back home because at least God is being praised whether people have little or a lot. Also, I’ve noticed people who distance themselves from God tend to suffer from severe depression and anxiety specially in the so called “richest” nations and richest zip codes in the world.
I’ll leave it at that. Wish you and your family as well as all of us the best in this life and hereafter.
      Assalaamu Alaykum abaayo.

Moving countries is hard, there’re differences in the way people interact and changed rhythms of everyday life to adjust to, on top of learning how to navigate the bureaucracies and systems of your new country and dealing with a whole different cultural background everyone but you seems to share. Maybe compounded by a language barrier. I hope you adjust, or make it back to Pakistan happily.

I moved back to Somalia 11 months ago from UK. I am registered nurse and was making a good money. However, my spiritual side was so neglected that I was becoming sicker and sicker. I felt drifting away from my faith to the point where I was not able to pray 5 times a day consistently. I was miserable. Since I have moved to Somalia, I feel as you said it, ALLAH in the air. I don't have as much money as I used to but I am so content, ALHAMDULLILAAH. Somalia has its own problems, howeveR I can handle it because I am now mentally, spiritually and physically sound, alhamdullilaah. Nadifah like your video so much.

This is such a Beautiful video. I’m a Black American with mixed lineage ( African , Irish, and Indigenous) and have grown up Christian - Baptist. I never felt connected to being Baptist and the concept of a Euro-centric version of Jesus. I’m currently on a spiritual journey and looking to root myself in a religion that is a reflection of my values and beliefs. I have Muslim friends who are Somali and they have inspired me to start a journey. I’m still in the beginning stages so finding your video feels serendipitous.

As a 27 yo black woman with two black children(daughter and son) growing up in America has been very difficult for us and black people in all over the nation. At first this video made me curious, energetic and relieved that a country like this exist and I know there's plenty more. I know every country has its flaws but I don't think any country in Africa could compare to Americas downfalls. Then I felt enraged because we (black folks) constantly feel less than, and always feeling like you have to "prove" yourself or in my case, dumb yourself down, for folks to deem us worthy enough to be treated like a human being is devasting our people spiritually. We try so hard to impress everyone and help everyone. We get no where in America, I think as black folks we need to leave the reparations fight alone, go to Africa and start fresh. This video confirmed my feelings on this matter. Thank You Nadifah, blessings to the most high, you and your family.

I completely agree with you about feeling the need to impress everyone as a Black person! Not saying people of other races don't experience this necessarily, but it can be exhausting constantly worrying about how people perceive us because of our race. I'm at the start of some kind of religious journey (not sure where it will take me, but this is why I'm looking into Islam!) and one of the things that's really resonated with me from some of my Muslim friends is knowing that the only opinion that truly matters is that of Allah (or whoever an individual believes created them and life on Earth). I'm already starting to feel less self-conscious and more at peace just knowing this!🥰

Before I begin I want to say that I accepted Islam in March of last year. Right before the beginning of Ramadan.
I understand what you’re saying. Yes I grew up in America, but I have to agree with everything you said. Between 2017 and 2018 I was living in Germany. In the capital city of Berlin. While there I really adopted the European culture which I found to be very relaxing. There isn’t this sense of needing to rush all the time. They really value enjoying their free time. I felt like I left behind my life back home when I was there. Especially considering that I grew up in Southern California, I didn’t realize how much of the society I lived around was very materialistic. And living only an hour away from LA, since coming back home I’ve noticed the negative impact Hollywood has on the city.
Financially I had to return to America, but it hasn’t felt the same since returning. Don’t get me wrong, Berlin and Germany in general is very secular. I can see myself returning for a visit, but it will be different as I’ve changed since becoming Muslim.
Since becoming Muslim I see the way people behave when they don’t have the remembrance of God in their lives. I feel like Islam has that structure that helps people break out of the system that society wants people to consume on. I was really blindsided not being aware how society has us worshipping celebrities or politicians. And as you said if I’m going to worship anyone, it’d be the one who created me and the one in which we’ll all return to.
I want to spend the rest of my life as a Muslim. And Insha’Allah I would like to move to a Muslim country. I know that with the help of Allah there will be a way.

I myself have been thinking about moving to a Muslim country someday only to experience true human unity and compassion for each other. I'm from bulgaria, we have a big number of muslims there and they always radiate such calm and warm energy, that makes you want to just have a 4h long conversation with them. Moving to Poland where there are ONLY 2 mosques in the whole country and for the past 8 years of living here not seeing even once a muslim is kind of weird to me, if I can say it like this. I miss seing these relaxed, concious people filled with love. Im really thankful I found you, i feel like you are a such good representation of the muslims, i always loved religions, excited to learn more about Islam too:)

I moved to Pakistan 3 years ago and I totally understand what you mean! Western countries have so much of a focus on individual values they sacrificed communal values.
We need basic community values to function. My mental health drastically improved when I moved to Pakistan. This is the most peace I have been at in many years. Loneliness and the coldness of others was taking a mental toll on me, growing up in England we are conditioned to remain so secluded in our daily interactions. People here are so friendly and I realised it was not normal to be so rude for no reason and secluded in the UK, it was messed up.

But I think the sister who you were speaking about is Yasmin Mogahed 14:54 .May Allah make this journey for you one that is filled with goodness and peace 😊💗🙏🏾

Excuse ,but so freaky. I've witnessed how woman are treated in heavy Islamic nations. I've seen a woman in a sac with a eye slot . Get Hite by a holy police man as called. With a stick I public for some dress code error. She was walking and gets Hite and yelled at. Woman can't drive men if chosen can have three wife's. I heard a man only needs stand on street and say there times, I divorce you . And it's over. No woman is allowed to have. Say in Congress. No woman Senator. No woman head of company. At lest in America. Woman can achieve as far as want.

As someone who is learning a lot about Islam and how beautiful of a religion it is. I am shocked that more of my comrades are not Muslim. Thank you for talking about capitalism, individualism and liberalism. It’s so important for us to acknowledge the things that make America a group of jaded people. Thank you so much for this video! Love the editing by the way 😊. A lot of what you said here resonated with me. I'm not Muslim (yet..?) but am going on a spiritual journey of discovery and you put into words what I could not describe. I grew up in the U.S. too but decided to do my bachelor's degree in Europe (unusual choice, but it's actually cheaper!) because I wanted to experience new things and didn't feel 'at peace' in America with its politics. I live in Denmark now for my studies and while it was exciting to move over here, I feel more comfortable with the social support of the government, and I'm so grateful that this was even an option for me, I still feel empty in some ways. Maybe it's from being away from my loved ones, but what you said in this video made me consider that it could be at least partly due to how secular both countries are (the U.S. and Denmark)! I don't know my exact beliefs yet, but I do believe that there is at least some kind of spiritual entity that created life, and most people in Denmark from my experience are not religious at all, and I lack a feeling of community. In the U.S. I appreciate that I can talk to strangers without it being weird and folks are generally polite, but over here, people are so reserved (not necessarily unkind though) and I feel more alone and disconnected than ever. I'm tempted to stay here for the purpose of getting a passport and having greater ability to move around in Europe, but I'm considering leaving after my degree to find somewhere where I feel more connected and spiritually fulfilled. Thank you so much for presenting your perspective and putting into words what I could not! 🥰❤

As a Canadian hailing from Vancouver, one thing I will give America is that at least there is the population and community in some bigger cities, where there is a Muslim community. You will find practicing Muslims who care about and prioritize family, and community, don't believe in monetary gain, put spiritual first, etc. IN VANCOUVER I CAN BARELY FIND PEOPLE LIKE THIS 😭😭😭 I think our biggest population is atheist not even Christian, it honestly hurts my soul
I visited New York last summer and was so in awe by the number of Muslims I saw, and the different cultural communities and neighborhoods. Indeed I am so inspired now to move to a city with a bigger Muslim community, find my brothers and sisters who share islamic values, or just pack up and leave to a Muslim country 🥹 My parents performed Umrah for the first time in their lives this summer and absolutely fell in love with Makkah & Madinah, and I can't blame them.
Your video was recommended to me at such a perfect time. I love this and am so grateful to Allah that there are Muslims/people out there who think like you! Thank you for sharing your story 💖

@@WTFajr Ahh thanks so much for chiming in < 3 Alhamdulillah, I am so happy for you and your decision. I haven't really considered Calgary before but you are right it is quite affordable and have heard good things from Muslims living there. Might consider it too 😊

Subhanallah, in February, 2023 my family moved to Amman, Jordan for this. My husband was raised in Amman that's why we chose here. Now my kids go to a school where I know they're SAFE. No worry about school shootings alhamdulilah. I feel so safe any time of day 10 am or 10 pm it's the same. I've actually fallen asleep many days with my front door open. That would never happen in the US! The wild dogs are more terrifying than the people lolll. Financial stability is difficult here, So my husband travels back and forth. He still works in the US and comes here every few months. He's working his best to set up a life for us here, and we are all trying to be patient. May Allah make it easy. 🤲I think a lot of ppl are getting sick of the US. It's just going down hill which is sad bc I do still see it as my home.

    I... love this?
I know not all Muslim countries are the same- and not everyone's experience is the same. But it really feels that you ever found the perfect place to heal your soul for a while. To just be.
Religion here almost feels dangerous? Im also in Tennessee. And the churches around this region don't have a... humble or spiritual vibe at all? It's unbalanced individualism in the church? A status symbol?
Makes me feel rebellious for praying and meditating and trying my best to take care of loved ones and those who need it- And rebellious to not gravitate toward too many labels-- I don't know what my path will look like, but I'm ready to just 'be'. And to give and love.
Thank you for this video. Your voice is so soothing.

also, i’d love for you to start a podcast. your insights are fascinating and you voice is so soothing mashaAllahhh 🫶

I've been wanting to get away as well. I'm tired of the culture here in America. Especially, when it comes to racism/prejudice. I can't find peace in this country. There are alot of great things about America of course, but the culture is just very toxic. I wish I could at least take a vacation somewhere. I'm glad that since you're a black woman, you went to an all black country. And, its even better that you're connecting with your mom side of the family. If I was to move to another country, I don't know where I would go, but it would definitely be somewhere in Africa or an all black country from any where in the world. I just want to go somewhere that will feel like home and where I can be at peace.

Love what you have to say and the move that you made what you have to say is so heartfelt it’s pure it’s divine and I thank you for saying it. I am 67 years young and I have decided 2004 April 3. I’m moving to Thailand because I have changed my spiritual belief from the Christian Belief that I grew up in to Buddhism so I want to live where people practice that and think that and I hear what you’re saying about the coldness of peoples heart they can’t help because they don’t have the basic foundation of spiritual belief that everybody believes in, so I’m proud of you for doing what you did at such a young ageand I hope that God will continue to give you the very best that he has to give in this new year to come and the rest of your life.
