Why wouldn't they keep the artstyle when it's a prequel involving the same character, the same Hyrule and the "themes"? It would have been weird had they changed the artstyle instead of retaining it.
Javier Vásquez I think it would have been way easier to have just kept the artstyle of the original Hyrule Warriors. Idk if it’s the same engine though.
@@javiervasquez8995 Mainly because it's a Warriors game. I initially thought it would be more like the first where it had it's own set art style, and a fan fiction tier story like when a big titty anime girl simps super hard for Link she causes a war.

Also, I hope they actually show what Hyrule looks like before the attack starts. I want to see Hyrule Castle Town in all it's glory

@@edotensei7917 yeah, but that's just a vague shot. If they wanted to save the work and hassle, they could still keep eyes off the town and say that it gets destroyed at some point before actually showing it.

@@giygas9305 I couldn't kill lynels at all during my first playthrough. They were *way* too hard and terrified me.
I figured them out real quick on my second playthrough, though. Like all enemies in the game, they have a pattern. You might die a couple times figuring out that pattern, but once you do, killing a lynel is basically just a matter of timing and patience. Flurry rushes help a lot, but aren't required... they just make it easier.

I remember when people were disappointed that the champions weren't in Hyrule Warriors. Meanwhile, Nintendo was like, "Just be patient." LOL

And we get to play the champions and botw Zelda but Aonouma said botw Zelda would not work in smash bros cause she is a researcher well this proves otherwise!

It's interesting to see this pop-up first on TH-cam when I just woke up from my morning nap, as I prior to this announcement, due to the plotholes in the map locations naming in BotW confusing what timeline it actually is on and leaving no explanation why it has locations named after characters from all 3 timelines, resorted me to include the original Hyrule Warriors in my fanmade explanation of why it's possible, with the Zelda theory that due to Cia's (I think her name was) interferance with the eras of Zelda across time during being brainwashed by Ganondorf, is why BotW had people within it's world having named locations from characters across time and different timelines, effectively joining the 3 timelines once again. Which in effect with this trailer, I was actually not too far off! Wonder if we'll see Cia and Lana in this entry in the Warriors games? I hope Mipha is playable! She's so sweet...
This is actually a GENIUS way to implement a warriors style game into Zelda. The context works since this battle was a large scale war and what makes this even better is the fact that Nintendo didn't have to do it but did it anyway!
Yeah Its absolutely genius, I've always wanted to play in the Calamity war but with the Warriors engine it'll fit even better as a war
they already did this back in the Wii U.

No, the time when he was surrounded by dead Guardians, in Akala. He's quite battered and even faints at one point. Plus, after his regenerative sleep, he's said to have loads of scars, so we can imagine he was quite hurt when he fought all those enemies.

This is like Halo Reach...It's exciting to be able to experience the story, but so depressing to know everyone is going to die
The first few halo games were so good I didn’t even care to pay attention to the story I was too busy on live playing team battle and doubles or king of the hill
And now all I can wonder is if the final mission of this game will be Link on that grassy field, holding of a horde of enemies to protect Zelda even as the Master Sword gradually gets worn down...all leading into that final memory from Breath of the Wild.

I love how open Nintendo is being in this showcase. They should do stuff like this more often.

What's cool about this is that unlike the other hyrule warriors game, this can be considered canon, since it actually is taking place in a continuity unlike the former game.
Because it takes place during the calamity, it makes me wonder if there's gonna be a bunch of foreshadowing, hints, and questions that will be followed up by Botw2, and maybe also answer questions from botw1.

Its really up in the air if this is canon. Is most likely gonna be a vague retelling of the events 100 years ago because as you see, Link use runes from the Sheikah Slate, which they didn’t have back then.

It doesn't matter if it is canon or not. Technically, every Zelda game ever exists in the same timeline, but if BOTW2 acknowledges this spinoff, then it will be officially "canon."

Those words are most probably Zeldas last words before she transformed herself into that light which kept Ganon sealed for 100 years. Which tells me that these words aren't directed to the Champions but more like to everyone in Hyrule. So she protected everyone

@@tha1neo418 He's obviously talking about the gameplay, and he doesn't mean it literally. Koei Tecmo is a company that specializes in having your character just fight a laaaaaaarge sum of baddies (see Hyrule Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Persona 5 Strikers)

That is unless they'll reveal something "hopeful" at the end of the game maybe related to the Queen of Hyrule(Zelda's mother), the Zonai tribe, the 7 Sages or perhaps Hylia herself planning something to fight Demise's newest reincarnation directly. There's just SO much they could do to surprise us at the end of the game. Just imagine a Marvel esque post credit ending scene with a big reveal suggesting the Triforce lies hidden underground and Link and Zelda could use it to revive EVERYBODY who died because of the Calamity. 😲

damn imagine if COVID didn't happen. Min Min in Smash, Origami King, Pikmin 3, Mario 35th, and this game, and maybe even more would have been in the E3 Direct.
mr mwm games could be delayed or not ready to show off because of COVID so it’s not the worst idea to space things out and show them off when you’re 100% sure they’re ready. I think they could’ve done it better and announce a mystery game the day before so people can get prepared though.
So now we know that Breath of the Wild Link was canonically as strong as a Warriors protagonist. They weren’t kidding when they said he’d gotten weaker in his sleep.

We probably won’t play the champions in the divine beasts, probably them journeying to them, when they are successful. They go inside and die to the blights.

Actually that could be a pretty amazing level. Playing as Zelda, rushing a mortality wounded Link to safety, getting the master sword to the Deku tree and then going off to hold back Gannon alone until link recovers 100 years later.
And then do a BotW play through to experience it in chronological order😢

Never played a warriors title but I’m definitely playing this one
You should give the previous one a go too. Slashing through the foes with various warriors and weapons is very satisfying (my favorite is the Trident Ganondorf and Spinner Link). It's a good training for the new game too.

@@daydream5835 i honestly don't think it will because the events are prior before link and all the main characters split up because he got hurt and had to go to the shrine of resurrection and there is a hard mode so i don't think there will be a need for a master mode and the play style is different in this game.

I always liked to believe that the blights killed the champions from behind, because in 1-on-1 the champions would have won. Them losing will make me break every zelda collectible i have. (about 300)
You never know, the last level could always be us rescuing a defeated Link and placing him in a capsule, so the events of Breath of the Wild will occur.
So you could say, it is a victory within a defeat.

This won't required the prior HyruleWarrior game right? Its a brand new game not a DLC? Also you won't transfer your player data,progress or Level? I played BreathOfTheWild and HyruleWarriors alot but on the WiiU. Now recently rebought the BreathOfTheWild on Switch and starting all over again. Just want to be prepared. Don't know why Nintendo doesn't allows you to transfer your game data if it's same account or at least give a discount to rebuy it.

Franco Peralta I think the reason for that is mostly because translating Japanese to English is probably one of the hardest things and saying specific phrases in Japanese will be very strangely worded and translated to English which is why they simplified the wording. That's why learning to speak Japanese as an English speaker is the hardest thing to do since English does not translate very well onto Japanese and vice versa, that's why in Japan English isn't widely spoken although their are some Japanese English speakers since they decided to challenge themselves with learning a the hard English language as a Japanese speaker.

Age of Calamity is the same case, it takes place 100 years during the great calamity just things don't go as expected.
They used every way there is of saying "this game is a prequel" that doesn't use the exact word "prequel", so they still lied about the game being a prequel.

Zelda seems to be using the Sheikah Slate in order to fight. Honestly I feel like she's only fighting to fill out the roster, her style of combat is either sheikah slate or those light powers, neither of which lends itself well into Smash or as the playable adventurer in a Zelda game, at least in my opinion

Now I just have to hope in BOTW2 they give me the option to play in Hyrule AFTER I defeat Gannon (given that's even the story!) with all the NPC's rebuilding Hyrule, new quests, etc. Regardless, exciting times!

Objective: Survive.
Jeffrey Valiente Link and Zelda were on a different mission than the remainder of hyrule. Trying to get to the castle to defeat Gannon while the remaining Champions went to the divine beasts.
The Hyrulian knights and army faced their end at the Akala Citadel. The most fortified structure in Hyrule, and was thought to be the last hope. It failed but very soon after, a miracle happened at fort Hateno.
Damn, it’s gonna be like everybody still keeps fighting and fights to the end, even though they realize they’re gonna die. I want to see the battle, but I’m not prepared for crying.
I love how Nintendo thanks their customers. So refreshing from other games companies telling their customers to STFU, take our crap and like it!
