    The crocodile symbolizes how selfishness lends itself to either taking advantage of vulnerable people or pushing those with healthy boundaries away in pursuit of temporary pleasure and at the cost of making meaningful connections that bring purpose to life because without them you'll eventually just want to lay down and die, but even if you do want to die society will push to keep you alive with temporary pleasures to sustain the utility you provide (in this case keeping other crocs away).

    No moral. It's just a story of desire and cause/effect of pursuit of that desire.
    Human's worshiped the crocodile because that one red crocodile drove out all the other crocodile and was basically just going to die.

      I found this on an old vhs tape in someones trash when they had to move in a rush. I have no idea why- how- or what the heck. But when I was 9 This and the doctor was the WEIRDEST THING I had ever seen and gave me nightmares.
      ...Looking back on it now- Thank you for your amazing work that has inspired me.

    I remembered that in the group where I lived there was a giant female who had already eaten another crocodile, cannibalism is normal in my species, but I also love life and for this and other reasons I left the group.
    This story reminded me of that

    It is kind of odd that one is cannibalistic even though large crocodiles actually benefit from having smaller crocodiles around to help rip chunks off there prey because crocodiles can’t chew there food also crocodiles have vary slow metabolism and can survive for months on end with no food even to the point where they can survive the whole dry session of Africa were there is no fish to eat or much else for multiple months

    • @kennethsatria6607
      @kennethsatria6607 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think its just a fable type story, the whole deal with massive crocs is exactly cause of this slow metabolism and being respected by the other crocs for their size, though I am sure cannibalism can be a thing for em too.

      Its not in-sensible to fear crocodiles, but they aren't insatiable gluttons either its just that many species wait and conserve energy between times of plenty as to not waste what they have on prey that's not gonna be worth it

    I'd like to know what the moral of this story is. I'm a bit confused.
    Through luck, happenstance and the abuse of the kindness of others this one alligator lives while everyone around them suffers. It's not like he didn't feel bad about it though.
    So is the moral that you can't fight your true nature?

    • @UncleSmithers
      @UncleSmithers 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Hugo Sigil he felt bad, but not bad enough to stop his actions. at the end when the narrator said he's modest, I think it's meant to be tongue in cheek. if he was truly modest, he wouldn't keep eating those around him, always ending up putting himself and his desires before those who care for him. I'm not sure if it's about people's true natures or maybe just showing how greed can benefit one person greatly at the expense of many others.

    • @YamamuraAnimationInc
      @YamamuraAnimationInc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      It is a symbol of the limits of knowing oneself.
      The crocodile can only count to one, but it cannot know its limits with its intelligence.
      Nor can it be aware of itself that it has red and terrible power.

      Well, crocs and octopuses don't talk, so it wasn't completely factual, but crocodile worship and feeding them human offerings is very real. For that matter, the bible describe "Yahweh (God) as a huge, winged fire breathing creatures that hordes treasure and demands offerings of cattle and first born children. It sounds like it is describing Smaug!
