This channel has been awesome. I worked with Mastercam v9 years ago and I lost the copy I used at home. I acquired 2017 to use with my recently purchased CNC Router and I have had trouble getting back into the groove of things. I can't wait until the new videos come out.
I wanted to know how to rotate around the X axis. This tutorial states "we can rotate around ANY axis" but fails to show how to do that and only shows how to rotate around the default axis =Z. I am still stuck.
@berntd easy way is to right click and select one of the other planes (right or front) then rotate about that axis. In some situations you will need to make a new plane to rotate about.
@berntd you can right click anywhere on the worksapce screen (not on an object or toolbar) this will bring up the "context menu" then you will see a lot of useful tools including the other default planes
big help Zane, this 52 yr old has been working (self taught) in 2D sign making software for 17 yrs. I'm trying to jump onto another horse. I'm currently trying out other 3D software, but I'm catching on with Mastercam the fastest I think.
That's wonderful! I've been searching for a resource like this. I could learn from my boss but we have been far too busy lately for me to bother him about it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
