Art worked with the Stanley Brothers when he was very young. Ralph (who has asthma) fired Art when he refused to stop smoking his pipe in the car. I’ve seen them laugh about it. Art appealed to CARTER but to no avail.
Yeah, I know. It didn’t last. But you have to respect other peoples wishes. Especially healthwise. That’s the only time my father got fired. They played together after that. And then, when my father battled the cancer and was at the end. It was Ralph that helped with the charity concert. It did not take long that musicians / bands from all over joined. That was a sold out concert. The musical Society showed so much support. The general public as well. I have no idea what happened to the charity. Really don’t care. But it was moving to see so many join together. Bless you happy holidays.
@ Ralph loved you dad’s playing. And of course he thought highly of Art, as did all who knew him. Last time I saw Art was at fiddler Jimmy Campbell’s funeral. He performed along with Vince Gill and a few others. It was touching.
@@CAROLUSPRIMA obviously that’s a given. I’m not gonna out you. Anyways, yes it seems like I remember when he went to that funeral. Vince is a wonderful person and his wife Amy she has a heart of gold too. Yeah, on dad’s last recording Vince came to the studio. I’m glad that he did! That was the last time they seen each other
I love this song and I love his voice
Miss those days.
Perfect fiddler for this band.
Amazing
