I like the slower pace. I’m Doom Eternal’d out and it was hard to go back after getting into Ultrakill. This seems to be id doubling down in making the game feel crunchy and more faithful to the flow of the originals and that’s awesome.
Can't wait for the next few years of Allstin content! Ok, so what are your thoughts on Hugo's quote from the showcase, "Through exploration you'll be unlocking new abilities and godlike powers along the way." WHAT ARE GODLIKE POWERS?? could they be those force powers we saw in the cut content from Doom 16? Or just faster speed and stronger melee strikes...
aww yeah! it’s been awhile since we got the last dark ages news. 7 months, June! it’s hard to tell at this point, but maybe the divinity machine is just the start…! the power to pilot mechs and gatling gun dragons, and really even more than just that
A lot of people seem to be worried about the slower more methodical play but I honestly welcome the change of pace. Too many neo boomber shooters are just thinking about speed rather than a more methodical approach mixed with speed like classic doom.
they tone it down to hurt me plenty and don’t go all crazy in trailers - the movement they show is planned and purposeful, i’m sure. curated. left 4 dead 2 is an all time favorite of mine and it’s not zoomy in play, and it’s fantastic. it fits it.
Remember in the Doom and Doom Eternal gameplay showcases the gameplay was slower, much slower than the full experience ended up being. Also remember you can increase base speed by 50% which, although they only showed it for 1 second, was noticeably faster. Don't worry it'll feel nuts I'm sure
My head canon tells me the slayer discovered glory kills in dark ages & did it to groups to be efficient Then when he was forced into the coffin his rage took over even more & he decided each glory kill was gonna be 1 at a time Then in eternal he had everything down to the detail
At first I almost hated Eternal. It took me 10 mins to finish the first Marauder. I couldn't quick switch (and didn't know about it coz I wasn't paying attention to tutorials). Now I have 1700hours and finished everything in the game on Ultra nightmare and finished Kaiser campaign on Nightmare 😅 amazing gameplay loop. Can't wait for the melee focused combat in TDA
I’m still playing Eternal. Got TDA preordered yesterday. I’m very excited for the slower pace, hopefully it means I can stay in the game for longer than an hour without getting fatigued.

I’m definitely playing Dark Ages on launch. But I have just one problem: I’m still using an I5-10400. I need to upgrade to an I7 to play Dark Ages, but only 10th or 11th gen ones since my motherboard only accepts those.

I like the lack of accountability glory kills present, and inspired by Mayo and his challenges,i stopped glory killing and use of highlights long before i knew about this. I do like glory kills, but this is cool. I also wonder if we get the old school bfg where you get more power shoving it in monsters faces
I've really enjoyed the slow process of getting better and improving at Eternal, and it made me way better at 2016 too. I'm looking forward to this game, and your content on it.
The thing i disliked the most about dark ages is that it feels slower, im not talking about movement that sure can be speed up but the slow motion on every hit and parry is super annoying to me, it disrupts the flow all the time, and what are those super slow projectiles from the enemies? im worried that its not gonna feel as good as eternal with its uninterrupted momentum
Doom Eternal was the first game that filtered me. I couldn't get the hang of it even on easy. It sucks cuz i love the franchise so much. Hopefully this one might be a bit less overwhelming for filthy casuals like me
i think the potential is there - have you tried studying guides? i have tons of videos and a playlist for it. it may be something that takes time and concentrated effort or you may just stick to easy mode and that’s where you find is your zone just depends
This game is a lot less 'get gud' than Eternal.... or so it seems. Its more focused on slow precise gameplay rather than hopping like a bunny and no scoping
The glory kills look terrible compared to what we have. This new mechanic looks like we’ve regressed. The glory kills needed to be more dynamic and flow better sure but this takes the violence and brutality out of it. You just punch the air and they explode ??

3k in doom 2016, due to multiplayer. 200 in DE. But I replay campaigns every year, and there are great sp mods for doom 2016.

trailers are always toned down and slowed down, every move is calculated for the display. even for 2016/eternal. so we can still have room
