Diffey is so precious poor thing she was shivering out in the cold. I'm glad the worker found her and thank you Meg for going out there day or night to rescue the batties. They're so tiny but take such a big place in our hearts. Hang in there little sweetie pie❤😘❤🦇❤
Jade, little Diffey didnt make it apparently. Love these videos. Heartbraking when there poor mothers end up either run over, or electrocuted on them horrendous powew lines, which should pulled down. Not to mentioned netting. God bless this little darling.
Oh no she didn't make it 😥 she seemed kind of talkative and bright-eyed, that 1st nite. Do they know what caused her passing? At least she spent her final couple days receiving the best love & care in the world.

I know, she's crying for the loss of her mama, on top of being terrified, cold, and hungry. She's just adopted another mama, who won't drop her, hopefully. Lol
It's possible Diffey is a dropped twin, but also possible that her mum died somewhere close by, or was hit by a car (busy road) and was dragged by a car and Diffey dropped off somewhere. Lots of things are possible

@@Womanwithblackdog I don't think it was hypothermia - they can always warm up and she was warm by the time I got her home. They don't tolerate hyperthermia but she wasn't overheated either. I think she had internal bleeding - she was very pale before she died.
At least you were there to make her as comfortable as possible, and not completely alone and scared. The older I get the more empathy and sympathy I get for just about everything in situations like this. These baby bats are difficult to resist. It is very touching, that when you find one alive and still with its mother that has died, she still has her baby wrapped in her wings, most of the time. Thank you for these posts, Megabattie.

The face on Diffey is just so sweet, and it hooks you right in. Then there are her Mommy distress calls. I do hope she makes itThis year has the need to improve dramatically from 2020. I have seen a lot of bats come in with pale tongues and gums. How serious an indicator of good health is the colour of the young and gums?🖤🇨🇦
I feel a shudder every time she is uncovered. I keep feeling like she is really cold from those curled feet and I’m certainly not there instead of you. Silly, isn’t it? Hope she is OK.
Thanks Meg and the kind road workers. She was adorable, and so lucky to be spotted at night. Sadly I know the outcome. I'm so glad she didn't die overlooked in the gutter. She died dry warm and in your care. Small mercies. Sigh.

I do not want to sound pessimistic...but the thumbnail face/last moment of the video...the baby bat face shows heavy signs of fatigue... I really hope the baby survives but if not, then at least she would be in comfort and warmth. Thank you for the rescue, truly
I can never tell, and despite most viewers saying they can ALWAYS tell from the vid, (with the benefit of the description and hindsight), it could go either way. Diddle Diddle Dumpling - I didn't give her a chance and she went well. A whole heap of bats who were as squidgy as hell all made it, and ones who looked great didn't. I don't think she has a chance but she will survive or not, according to what is going on inside her.
You can do it Diffey! You can break the streak and live and thrive! Hang in there dagnabbit! I actually hope she can get reintroduced to her mum. She might still be flying around looking for her the next few nights.

Pale gums aren't good, but it could be shock rather than internal bleeding and blood loss. It's not definitive.
