The change just before the three-minute mark signals a piece of this 'punk suite' which sounds very much like 1970s folk-rock band Steeleye Span. Crass attracted much criticism for their 'lentil-growing, commune-dwelling hippy anarchists' stance but some of their music was a fresh and welcome departure from sub-Ramones orthodoxy. Case in point is this suite, which utilises elements of 1970s 'progressive rock', namely the segmented 'episodic' construction, progressing through differing tempos and musical constructs. Another welcome thing (though not by all) was Eve Libertine's unapologetic middle-class tones; a bold move when to many 'punk' was supposed to be a 'working class phenomenon' (which it in part was; but there was so much more to it. Punk literally contains multitudes) and many a 'punk' vocalist strove to sound cod-Cockney, regardless of their background.
Yeah you'll shake your arthritic hands at us I was four when they broke up and I'm forty now this is for all of us it's not like he's recording NEW songs as crass it's just celebrating the songs live....loosen up twat
@@DetroitFettyghost "THIS CHANNEL WILL NEVER BE ABOUT: Tearing other people down, instigating disharmony, drama, leaving ignorant comments" That's the info on your channel mate. I left my honest opinion. I think you are doing the exact opposite of what you claim in your channel info.
Ever found out by accident that your so-called "friends" envied what you weared at some time? I found out. I was shedding my "punk skin" and they wanted to buy my CRASS stenciled Sears Heavy Duty buckleovers. Instead, I buried them out at Bell Mountain in Awful Valley, CA. I received a "Thank you Kelly," from Steve when I posted on another video. Cheers, 😎
F.f sake will you lot slaggin steve aff .get a grip on yourrselves .steve doing his own thing .which he is entilted to do. Just like u are .and i am .steve keep on rockin
seen crass a thousand times have grown up with them, this isnt crass, its a pale easily consumed version, all too polished and perfect, crass were,nt just a band to most people they were a inspiration to get off your arse and do something to change things for the better, this makes me sad hearing this, there are some things best left alone and this is one of those things, sounds like a fuckin karaoke track played by session musicians to sing along to in their local pub,if you want to hear crass, buy their records and make sure they dont come from hmv or any shite outlet,c,mon you lot otherwise all this was for nothing and you missed the point,,,,ATB Andy.
I am 53 and also see your point but from all the Steve Igs vids I've put up lots of the younger generation who weren't even born have appreciated seeing the videos and Steve.
I get where your coming from. But I feel today's generation need a taste of this. I think its important. This band, these songs, changed my life 25 years ago. I actually am not bothered by seeing all of this.
My Japanese grandfather got me into Crass back in highschool. I love this band
Thats totally cool! Cheers. 🥸
Hey! I added lyrics to this to play for my high school history students. Hope you're cool with that. Crass Bloody Revolutions
Amazing video. Brings me back to my youth, going through middle /high school.

This is not Crass. It's nothing like being at a proper Crass gig. People who saw them back in the day just shake their head sadly at this.

What's wrong with it?
Tvs broadcasting the visuals etc' it's still great don't listen to that guy
@@Maria00900 It simply isn't Crass. It's just Steve Ignorant and a tribute band.

Cool.
totally agree with Peter L
Polo shirts with the Crass sign on FFS!
Get fxxed working class skins wear those shirts it's not a fuckin polo ffs
Crass has always worn what could be considered a uniform. Black collared shirts and black trousers.
It's called punk rock which is more than stereotypical uniforms.
It's not a polo. You definetly don't know what it is go give yourself a history lesson.... ❤
fuckin astounding!

In the American sense they are not punks but Hippy rap artists. Can people from US even comprehend the lyrics?
That's not true at all.
Le son est pourri, on comprend rien
Nothing but a Money making venture & everything Crass were against Punk is Dead
net zero/year zero. sadly all too relevant still today.
