- Rob Newman (stand up comedian and Mary Whitehouse Experience with David Baddiel -1993) talking about Crass, and getting arrested after one of their gigs. The gig he's talking about was at a venue called Bowes Lyon House, in Stevenage (Hertfordshire, England) on 18th September 1980.
Stirling Albert halls 42yrs ago the songs that CRASS sung are as relevant now as they were back then maybe even more today DO THEY OWE US A LIVING
OF COURSE THEY FUCKING DO!
Winsford Youth Centre 1981..11years old, unforgettable!!
Yes mate. You saw Crass. First time for me was 1981, the 100 Club in London with Poison Girls and Flux of Pink Indians. It was one of those gigs that changed my life.
@@hopebgood Yes, they plsyed our Youth Club in 81 twice, no bar or age restriction, average audience age about 14. Some Youth Club with no bar in some little, insignifcant overspill town in Cheshire because some kid(not me) wrote to them and asked them to.. They were selling millions of records and could've packed anywhere out. I used to write letters to them, you'd get a reply to everyone and a load of badges and pamphlets . Imagine a band selling that many records and still having the time to do that?? I love their music, their artwork and love their sentiment. A one off!
@@strumbolli I know EXACTLY what you mean mate. 😉👍❤

5 times at Digbeth Civic Hall Birmingham...1980-84 ..great days
Just once at DCH for me - 4th May 1984.
There was a funny story around my scene back in the day about one of our crew who kept playing his first CRASS record at the wrong speed for the longest time before someone else heard it and informed him. He really liked it at both speeds. It's the only band that I've ever heard anyone doing that with, and now in the comments it seems like this happened to a lot of people with CRASS! That's really cool, that you can make music that sounds great at 45 rpm and 33 rpm both! Got to see Steve Ignorant and his band play all CRASS songs at Riotfest a year ago. Fucking brilliant!
I've just uploaded a new Crass video I made

Looking forward to seeing Steve next week in Bristol 🙂
I played it at 33 aswell the first two times and still thought it was good lol.
CRASS are still a powerful band to see live at Blackpool Rebellion festival
That makes me smile 😀 See?
This guy is funny 😂
I'd get to the fucking point sooner and I think you'd be fine from there.
Is that the child catcher from chitty chitty bang bang?
Brilliant,
What time does the comedy start?
Funnily enough, I heard that as a heckle on a Jimmy Carr video on TH-cam just the other day...
Saw them at the Mayflower in Gorton, Manchester, must have been about 1981. I had long hair at the time - everyone else there was either punk or skinhead. Crass were dressed in black from head to toe, armbands with the Crass logo, like an anarchist parody of Nazi uniforms. I was impressed by the look but couldn't get into the music.
Platform 4?
Do they owe us a living?
'Corse they f#cking do 😉
Corsetheydo Corsetheydo
Cool story, mate.😁
I played it at 33 as well. Was still good. Better faster though : )

I find if you play the record backwards, it sounds better,,
With comments saying shop at woolworths.
I'm not convinced all the teenage girls in the audience would have understood a word of this. Especially not the punchline.
Tee-Hee-Hee! 😃
Milky milky
Crass were the bomb
Is this meant to be Funny 🥺🤔
Boring.
