    With the Xbox series X, with those pins on the port being bridged, you should’ve tried to swap out the HDMI IC, which is the N87N, since the Xbox will fail its self checks and turn off on its own if the HDMI chip has failed
    (Not sure if thats always the case though.)

    I'm curious, what type of feedback do you usually leave with items like these on eBay? Do you give the seller the benefit of the doubt? Do you call them out on what they do and/or didn't do as far as honesty with the listing?

    The dust is probably because the previous owner took it apart in their garage or something and didn't put it back together right away. Board got left on a table or workbench and collected dust

    I would like to see a good repair youtuber (like Joey) discuss about the reasons of some gaming consoles faults. I'm amazed of Joey abilities, but also horrified of the huge amount of faulty consoles that are repaired. Maybe some good advices from a good repair guy Will help a bit

    I don't like seeing you (well anyone) lose money. However I very VERY much appreciate that you post the fails as well as the successes.
    Most repair channels show just that: repairs. They don't seem to post many failures, so you have to question if they did 5 attempts before 1 success or not.

    • @Sanrasxz

      If the seller was the person fixing it, they are clearly not an ordinary user either. In this case, I think they were just playing dumb.

  • @TheSpotify95
    @TheSpotify95 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yay, it's minus! Though think of it on the bright side: if the Switch charger is OK, and the power cable/controller for the Xbox is OK, you can at least sell those on to offset the minus from the consoles themselves not working.

  • @retroradar_de
    @retroradar_de 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I also bought the infiray and i am very happy with my purchase so far. Have no comparison though as it is my first thermal cam.
    Having the original charger makes up for the lost postage you paid for the switch lite :)
    With the xbox i assume they started repair, then failed and had it in parts bin collecting dust. Now they need the money and reassemble faulty.

    Honestly joey, I don’t get why you buy Xboxes. They are horrible to fix. I would focus more on things that have more chances to be fixed, also you will get more experienced with consoles you focus on.

      There is a logic in: a) buy the best you find, you dont always get a great chance to find awesome repair leads b) more variety = more content, as you can see, he is not making money from the sales, he is making from the yt content. Sometimes lady luck smiles, sometimes she does not, if you add the wholesome Joy attitude regardless = great content 😅

    Well one thing is sure ebay always gets paid! As you mentioned in earlier videos you aren't including your time as well as a lot of other costs so doesn't seem viable for actually making money. Need lower costs for the devices you fix like maybe pallets of returns?

    • @JoeyDoesTech
      @JoeyDoesTech  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d agree that in terms of making money, purely buying off eBay faulty, trying to fix and re sell (at least for the consoles I work on) is not worth it at all 😂
      Buying stuff faulty, stripping and selling would be a much better way to spend time 😃
