487mm of penetration at 7.0 (War Thunder)

- British tank destroyer Conway(and maybe G6) gameplay, War Thunder.
In recent War Thunder Sky Guardians update all APDS rounds got buffed or nerfed.
Depends how you look at it. At 0°, and 30° all of them got buffed, and at 60° most of them got nerfed.
120mm APDS of British Conway, and the Conqueror saw the biggets changes, over 100mm+ at 0° with slighty less at 60°(but the difference increases at the range)
And Conway sits 7.0 with 487mm of pen flat. That sounds like an overkill, well it depends if the post-pen damage was changed...

In this new update, the flat pen got big buff, but sadly, Angle suffered. It doesn't feel right now

I wondered at exactly what angle the cutoff from being buffed to nerfed, around 50° perhaps
@@DOLLARplays and that's mostly pen that matters. Flat pen rarely have any use since before change it already could pen anything at his BR, because nothing had more armor. 60' is most important cause it allows penning of heavy tanks mostly russians like is4/is7 frontally and angled targets and weird turret places. Many ppl show total lack of understanding and wank to "look at that 400 flat pen with... 80 on /60. XD

Sure they added some penetration to the APDS, but as downside this "shell shattered" started to appear more often. Usually it would make sense, it should appear where there is spaced armor i guess, but because of volumetrics and gaijin shitty armor models i had this communicat sometimes 2-3 times on the same vechicle in the same battle. The worst "gaijin moment" was when i shot kugelblitz flat in middle of back of the turret and shell shattered on impact.
I have been watching your channel for years and I have to say your editing skills are just phenomenal today. I find myself laughing all the time.

17:07 This is not per se an armour analysis bug, but more just a general war thunder bug, where APDS shells just dissapear for no reason when hitting ~50-150mm plates. They still create spalling, so in games it's not that noticable, but when there's double stacked plates, like for example on the turret here, the second plate stops all the spawning, and since the shell dissapeared hitting the first one nothing gets damaged

Up to you, if you want more armor, better damage per shell, but being very slow at everything, very slow...you pick Arizona. Alaska is faster, has smaller guns, but like twice as fast reload (I think its 20 vs 40 seconds), and way much more AA(best in game so far)

I feel like the maps rotate on server time, as in, if you leave fast enough you can play the same damn map 3x in a row. But leaving early often gives you the same map again.
I have the same feeling, if you leave too soon it's very likely that the next match will be in the same map

APDS get more nerfed that buffed, more flat pen but a lot less effectivenes in angles.
For example, comet/challenger cant pen panther hull now, despite the flat pen buff.
Also, i feel less post-penetration damage.
They really need to fix all types of rounds, especially besh
as a panther main, it barely change anything besides now 10/10 british tank shot my turret and my commander red instead of black

The real thing is apds more like to shatter after pen. So it cant pierce again engine and fuel tank. But fun fact for m60 aos it still old apds work very well even low flat pen around 265

Also, another nerf made to the apds is the shell will shatter every time it have to go through 2 armor plates, seize don’t really matter… before the update it could only happen at 700m or something like that and now, it can happen at point blank range… so add this to the angle nerf and post pen damage, they kinda ruin the British tech tree …

The APDS Has way too much pen but once it penetrates it doesnt do anything, its also same for APDS it seems like it is doing way less damage than expected .Could you Try A vietnam War lineup like M103, M48 Or M60 or A vietnamese lineup with T-54,Wz305 and bmp 1.

Great video, its a good thing to know how Conway works since is my next unlock in the tree.
At first I was excited at the APDS pen buff. As the weeks have gone on though, I think it was a nerf overall. Post pen, I might as well be shooting nerf darts. No ammo detonations, crew turning red but not out, components turning yellow but not orange. APDS is now a liability in my lineup rather than an asset.
