This was exactly what I needed today. I bought this same machine 2 weeks ago and today it won't start. This is my first big piece of equipment so I know absolutely nothing about it. Thanks for taking the time to put this video out. Great stuff. 👍

This takes me back MANY years to my childhood, working under the hood with my dad! Only he used a hammer for a good many projects! LOL My mom always joked with him, "hey Henry, do you need a bigger hammer?" ROFL But he fixed everything he started even if he had to make a part himself. Great father & daughter times!! :)

Only a couple things missing from that video, no blood and no swearing.lol You do a great job with "how to" videos. I only wish that some of the starters I've had to change were as accessible as that one. I changed one on a car years ago and discovered that the only way to get it out was to loosen the motor mount and jack the engine up or to take the brake lines off the master cylinder. I put a mechanic's curse on the engineer that designed that one.lol Looking forward to more videos from you both! Thanks for the time and work you invest to make them. Phil

"Mechanics curse" Ha Ha, oh for sure, but not on this project. Kudos and praises to Cummings and Case for this particular one :D

Patrick has certainly had those blood and cussing sessions from time to time but this was one of those projects that truly went pretty smooth! Which always makes me happy too :D

Using the proper swear words are no different than using the proper tools! The right combination will ensure a quick success! I'll also add that sacrificial knuckles are a requirement; have no compassion though they have been with you since the beginning...

I am surprised that new part worked, it did have some differences but good deal. I am glad it worked and you didn't have to tear out the motor to get to the gears inside. Talented Mr. Rain

I saved about 20.00 by going with this starter. Operating specs were the same so I figured why not. The only difference between the two were the additional grounding post which I didn't need to use and the casing close to the solenoid was slightly different. I was mumbling a hopeful prayer over the flywheel teeth all being there and in good shape!

You failed to mention that before you purchase or install a new starter, count the gear teeth on the plunging gear to be sure the count is identical. I found that on my Case 580B construction king that there are two starters that look absolutely identical but the only differences were that one has 9 teeth and the other has 10 teeth. Also, you will need to know the direction the starter spins, clock wise or counter clock wise. If you install the wrong starter in your equipment and turn it over, you risk damage to the starter or ring gear (fly wheel) on the motor. Hope this helps.

Your awesome and we appreciate it. as you know stuff is expensive to keep up. This thing is mostly a yard ornament but comes in handy at times. It's old enough to me MOSTLY reliable but occasionally needs attention.
