    Thank you, finally the truth on the range. I have a Velotric T1 ST. My top range in green mode the whole way keeping the bicycle in locked mode is 35 miles. I do a 40 mile ride 5 days a week on this bicycle. I was have to do the last 5 miles with no power. Now instead while I am still strong I do the first 5 to 6 miles with the bicycle not even powered on. That way I have the power at the end of the ride when I am really tired. I am a 59 year old avid cyclist for years now and this is my first E-Bike. I realized I need help to stay on the bicycle and the T1ST has done that for me. I am going to get the range extender next month so I can increase ride to over 50 miles 5 day a week. Thanks again. I edited this to add that on my 40 mile ride I am getting 16 mph average speed. The ride is 40.32 miles takes 2 hours 31 minutes and average speed 16mph. That is with the 5 to 6 miles no power on the bicycle. I use a Gramin 830 bicycle computer for this info and use Strava. I also use the Varia RTL515 bike radar & tail light provides alerts to warn of vehicles approaching from behind, as well provide daylight visibility up to 1 mile. I will not ride without the Radar it shows on the 830 how many cars are behind me how fast in colors and how far back. The best part is to know when nothing is behind me and I can mess around getting water without worry of car hitting me. Don't need no mirrors with this thing. Been using this combo for years on my analog bicycles. It will also show bicycles and other things like even a jogger was coming up on me and it showed me. The Garmin 830 mounts on the existing Velotric stem mount that comes with the bicycle.

    I’ve had my ST for over a year now and I love it. I replaced the tires to a set of American Classic Gravel 700x50c with tan walls and it looks badass. I also replaced the handlebars with wider mountain bike size i think 780mm. Just so it feels better for my liking. I first had an issue with the power button, but Velotric was very accommodating and replaced it asap with no issues. I recommend this bike to anyone who wants a simple bike to ride around town and some light dirt roads. Nothing too bumpy since it doesn’t have suspension.

    • @anotherbikerider
      @anotherbikerider  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was curios to see if 700x50c would fit. That's awesome to hear! I'm definitely going to be putting those on soon. Although I just ran over glass the other day and can assure everyone that the puncture proof works. So, these might be on for a while. & Velotric has been great with customer service. After initial woes trying to replace my controller, they went above and beyond to ensure I was a happy customer. I recommend this as a great one size fits all
      e-bike to everyone. I speak so highly of it.
      Curious to know if you've experienced less range with the wider tire set. I assume it might be a little less with the gravel tires. If it's not that I need to put gravel tires on this thing yesterday.

    • @jlp-mtb1391
      @jlp-mtb1391 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, the range is a bit lower, but not an issue for me. I tend to ride on eco or tour for the most part. Downhills, it’s pretty much always off. If you’re just on paved roads, use higher psi on the tires. I can ride 30 miles no problem.

    Pretty refreshing coming from a regular cyclist first point of view. It's obvious you ride regular bikes alot and really appreciate what this bike brings to the table. Thanks. I'm torn between this bike and the Averton Soltera 2. I'm leaning toward the Volteric.

    • @anotherbikerider
      @anotherbikerider  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Last year, I did over 2k miles all on a non electric bike. I got this because its fun. No other explanation needed. E-bikes are the bee's knees. This product is great as an entry-level e-bike for a first timer. Wether you're coming from riding a lot before or riding a little before. This Bike will get you out riding more. I too looked into the Soltera and ultimately choose the Velotric. The Velotric Thunder series weighs about 10 pounds less, gets more range, has an essentially silent motor (really, try and hear it in the video, you can't) & is just and overall more aesthetically pleasing bike.
      Also, I cant speak to Aventon's customer service. But Velotric has done right by me. After some initial minor headaches with them, they have since gone above and beyond to make sure I am a happy customer.

    Great…REAL review. Just wish Velotric made this in a Large. After owning 4 ebikes of various makes, plus still riding my Surly LHT, I am researching the lighter weight bikes. I keep coming back to the Velotric. Although the T1 is very similar….and has lots of tech bells and whistles….the version of the bike you are reviewing looks great. Its also less than I am used to paying. Being 6’1” and some change I think this version is just a bit small. Anyway….thanks for the review!

      First of all, thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the review.
      If you really like this bike, I would recommend considering the T1 for you given your height. Look up your local velotric dealer and ask them to test ride both bikes. Lightweight e-bikes rule

    Awesome video Bruh. I've been looking at this bike for about a year. This video is a confirmation that this is the bike for me. I want to get a workout and have some assist when I need it. I want a light weight cycle that I can use with the power off sometimes. It don't look like an Ebike at all and that's what I'm looking for. I don't like fat tire bikes period and I'm no fan of huge framed bikes. This bike is for me. Thanks again Bruh. God bless

      @anotherbikerider  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Me too, I did a heck of a lot of research before buying. & This is currently the only bicycle that also happens to be an e-bike on the market in this price point. Which sounds like that’s exactly what you want. You’ll be a happy camper with this bike. This is my first e-bike and I love it.
      My other video “POV NYC Ride 1” shows me riding the bike without assistance & gives you an idea of what casual riding is like with the bike off

      There isn't a heck of lot of slack left in the wiring to increase the handle bar height. Gravel tires would fit on this bike. & yes, I have ridden it in the rain with no problems. Glad you enjoyed the review.

      The skinny tires took a little bit to to used to. I’ve riden MTB width my whole life. This is my first road setup. Again tho, this bikes times fits 700x40c gravel tires if you wanna do some more light trail riding with confidence.

    • @JoshuaMarcAragon
      @JoshuaMarcAragon 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn't call the stock 700x40c skinny, as road race bikes were running 23c tires just a few years ago. But, I think you could fit 45 - 50c in there. I am going to change the stock tires with Schwalbe gravel tires in 40c and that is good enough for the dirt paths I ride on.

    • @anotherbikerider
      @anotherbikerider  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No flats yet. Velotric hooks you up with puncture-resistant tires. But, the back tire comes off the same as a regular bicycle. The only difference is disconnecting one wire and that’s takes all of 2 seconds.

    • @garypond3451
      @garypond3451 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you. I'm a bit nervous that you had issues with the motor. I'm concerned about overall quality and reliability on a bike that inexpensive. Looks like a fun bike though and can get decent range with the extra battery.@@anotherbikerider

    • @anotherbikerider
      @anotherbikerider  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I had a faulty controller which was replaced for free. & I was reimbursed for the toolset I had to buy to do said repair. The bicycle itself has name brand components. Tektro hydraulic disc breaks. Shimano derailleur. Lower level components from those same companies have held up fine on my Trek Marlin 5. Which I’ve put over 5k miles on and haven’t had to replace. IMO, It’s a quality and fun e-bike for the price

    • @TIMMIE1919

    • @anotherbikerider
      @anotherbikerider  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I will be putting 700x40c gravel tires on it eventually. Didn’t want to waste brand new tires. So, I’m riding these until they’re no good. I do think I’ll get a little less range with the wider tires though

    • @anotherbikerider
      @anotherbikerider  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think you’re the perfect candidate for this e-bike. It’s perfect for people who ride bikes and want an e-bike but still want a regular bicycle. I have lots of hills by me and this thing is great. Provides enough assistance that helps me up but doesn’t rob me of a workout entirely. The torque sensor makes all this possible

      @anotherbikerider  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      okay, so you're in the same boat that I was before I got this e-bike. You will be fine with this bike and you'll love it. You'll be biking 100+ miles/week very soon and well into your 70s!
      Complaints: pedals and cranks are cheap plastic and are squeaking after 1,700+ miles. I need to replace them with better, more reliable equipment. There's also a persistent creaking coming from the handlebars/stem/that area. That are both new after this video
      I also don't love the 21mph cut-off. Not that I don't want to pedal, it's just not smooth.
      Bonus complaint: e-bikes are actually cheating. Cheating at having fun, yes. But I have gone back to my non electric bike a few times recently just to get an extra work out. 350W makes a huge difference to avid riders like you and me.

    Not having much experience with ebikes I test rode a T1 ST today. Going down hill, once I reached 20 mph, the motor completely kicked out which I would expect but the effect was so dramatic, I felt like there was a strong drag like I was pedaling while riding the brakes. Is this normal behavior? The motor can't be creating reverse drag can it? Is this effect less when unlocked to 25 mph? Otherwise was pleased with the bike.

    • @anotherbikerider
      @anotherbikerider  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I usually just turn the bike off going downhill. It is kind of dramatic when that power cuts out and you feel it yourself. & going from a lot of assist to none makes it all the more dramatic. The bike does have a slight drag when pedaling with it off. My guess is the extra component (torque sensor) you have to turn over that makes it ever so slightly more difficult

      I mean the seat has plenty of room to be raised. But you might be a little too hunched over on this frame. A large T1 would fit you but that’s a lot pricier. I would recommend test riding it at your local Velotric dealer to see if this bike fits you
