Vince didn't want Owen looking clumsy trying to release himself, so they used a quick release mechanism that required just a tug of a rope to release. I remember reading about the case at the time. The prosecution had clear evidence alledging that the release mechanism wasn't correct.
Vince didn't want Owen looking clumsy trying to release himself, so they used a quick release mechanism that required just a tug of a rope to release. Its alleged that the jolt at the end of the zip line caused Owen to accidentally to pull on the rope as he was holding on to it whilst transcending the zip line.

Stuntmen and actors have died making movies but the movie was still produced. Understand that I am a wrestling fan and Owens passing was as tragic as they get. I’m not condoning what the WWE did nor condemning. All I’m saying is before you judge too harshly remember others still profited from movies and such where someone died during production.
