Hey Sap, gotta give you a huge shout out, I’ve recently been watching your NHL24 vids. I must say they have absolutely changed the way I play, my game play is getting nasty enough where I often have wow factors with my changed style. As someone who’s been playing for years your videos are top notch, keep up the amazing work you do. Cheers.
Nice tip on moving your center for that 1 second until your defenseman gets it, after winning a faceoff. I never even thought about that before but works great!
Sap is the goat 🐐 thanks for helping me out on socials dude. Improved my game a ton once I get myself in rhythm each game 🙌🏻 Doesn’t always work but more times than not I stop players 👍🏻
Whole idea behind toe drag shots is that they change the angle of the shot and prevents the goalie from being completely centered to the puck. Very effective!
Good video. I subbed. Question there’s a play where on offensive down low usually in the corners the a player always sitting by the post. Very hard to defend. Which offensive setting it this cause I can’t figure it out. Also what sliders you use?
Overload is usually the best bet for finding players on the post. Right now im using 10-0-10-0 Overload but I suggest people use behind the net as its more simple and offers a lot more outlets if you happen to get pinched.
Dude your defense video the one about the home plate bro Iv been winning games on defense alone you're the goat once I learned how to score more than 2 goals a game its over for these noobs
In the second goal when you go forehand backhand, are you only moving the right stick, or are you moving the left stick to the forehand side at the same time as the right stick and then back to backhand?
How do you feel to combat hit spammers. I just feel like I can get by sometimes but then there’s games where I just get rolled and feel like I can’t do anything
Gotta be able to process the play faster and move the puck into open space for teammates to skate onto. If you can pass the puck around them you'll score so many goals.
you are making very good videos, very useful, because all other streamers i dont mention the names, make the same vidoes, best budget players, best event players etc. GREAT JOB it help us al lot of the average players
I appreciate the kind words. I try to be informative. I can't promise I won't eventually make videos like "best budget players" but I'll always try to make informative gameplay content.
Good video dude, but I feel like I don’t have the time to think about all these things while during a game. As soon as I get the puck I’m bodied and hip checked
Man. Ya make it look easy. Jealous lol. Watching the cycling part, if I try any of those passes they are always picked off. I’m not sure if it’s my connection or what, but I can’t create any space. I can even one touch pass and my guys still get hit or stick lifted before the puck is released. It’s so frustrating to see my guys with 92 speed and gold elite edges get murdered and smothered by an 80 overall forsberg
Damn, I have never seen a video game (Hockey) broken down at this level. This is next level being able to think to the next pass before it happens and quickly reading the AI positioning. Someday I will get there, just not today. Do you watch game replays to see how the AI will react to your moves? Maybe I need to do that 🤷♂
I dont usually watch games back anymore. the AI has operated the same way in most facets for many years. This year is a bit rough because AI won't move if there is any defenders around them, but I can usually look in the same spots I used to in 22 and 23 and expect an AI in that position.
@@Sapsterr I am finding myself passing around the perimeter and not finding the guy in the middle open quick enough. Once I take my eyes off the puck carrier, he gets smashed. The defense I am playing against seems to always clog the middle which gets me impatient and per usual, I make a forced bad play.
Honestly you make other TH-camrs look pretty dumb and take this as a compliment because the way how deep you explain your strategies is absolutely fantastic
Hey Sap. I enjoy the very informative and well delivered tips you provide us. Well done man. 🍻 I play quite a bit and trying to improve. I Consistently hit D3 but have not been successful hitting D2. Excluding all variables except gameplay/controls. I was just curious about the time stamps below as I'm really trying to focus more on my grasp of the actual controls. I've learned a great deal from your content and that of other channels and I appreciate any input.... haha see what I did there? That you might provide on this. Thank you very much and all the best to you and your channel brother. 🍻 7:20 When you say "pass off the pads", are you physically pressing RT when you're shooting or just aim and shoot? 7:28 "Open up my hips" Are you referring to pressing LT?
7:20 pass off pads is just another way of saying shooting for a rebound. No intention of scoring off that shot, just using the goalie as an object 7:28 When you hold LT while not using the left stick, your guy opens up his hips to face the net. That's what I mean. Use LT to face the next directly.
Depends on the situation, but on a 2 on 1, the best way to send your teammate somewhere is to just skate down 1 side of the ice with the puck, and your teammate will skate down the other side.
Reviewed your video once again. The problem is that the examples are made while you are 3+ goals lead and basically opponent is giving up in defense (probably). It's better use examples with the competitive stage of the game. 😇
Great video again! One thing i dont understand, how do you aim and or shoot and get the rebound so often? my shots always stays on goalie possession even if I aim down 🫠
@@Sapsterr Last year the slide and pull with the left trigger was money. This year it seems to have a new twist on how to utilize it. I get tensed up when playing and time and time again I see what I did wrong but keep repeating the mistake. That pass down low with Crosby is a perfect example. I panic to get the shot off and end up losing it. After I ask myself why I simply did not use misdirection.

Cheers friend. Thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad the video helped!
Great video (and much needed as I am new to the game) I still don't get how to "fire it low" , I'm more a "hit-the-logo" guy!
Use the left stick to aim your shot. Aim it along the ice towards the far side of the net :)
@@Sapsterr Thanks a lot ... how did I not think of that!! haha
Straight forward no yelling information.....you've elevated my game. Thanks again 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😎😎

No problem Erik. I'm glad I could help!
Praise be, my master has come to learn me some hockey. Thank you Sap.
New to HUT so this is going to help. What do you recommend for a noob starting out behind the net or overload ?
That is quite the toolbox of goal scoring techniques. I hope I don't match against you this weekend in Champs!!!
Thanks man, I don't toe drag enough, these tip will definitely help.
Whole idea behind toe drag shots is that they change the angle of the shot and prevents the goalie from being completely centered to the puck. Very effective!
@@Sapsterr Yeah, it's just for me getting the timing down and not always treating the puck like a hot potato lol

what are those letters on the players, i dont know what they do please explain. Should i press those buttons when passing?

SAP buddy!! Wish you woulda shared your strats too. Seems you’re running overload as opposed to behind the net now??
I have a strats video where I show what I recommend players use. My strats change all the time because I try new things.

Can we get a quick state of the union as to what is working RN after the 8th patch.

I needed this
I needed these type of videos years ago. I'm glad I can help people out nowadays :)
My plays aren't lining up as nicely as yours. But I'm scoring waaay more now, thanks very much
it looks simple but it depends on what strategy you play. That the attackers are driving forward so hard
Great video, I learned a lot. thanks

This explains why I was 17-2 champs last week and got absolutely ran by you in my last game
What strats are you using?
Use Behind the net 10-0-10-0. I have a strats video where I explain what I believe people should be using for strats
Liking and commenting for the 'grithm good stuff

Sap is the best, i like the new glasses!
W appreciate u
Is it just me or is it harder to go back hand on right shot this year. I find when going to back hand the player goes in shot animation.
I don't find it to be much of an issue but I know plenty of people who do have that issue.
Bro you look just like the actor John Bradley
Don't know whether to be happy or offended. Thanks though :)

This is good criticism. Early stages of the game you really have to trust your instincts.
Why no more video
I was dealing with a very bad illness and had no energy to make videos. my bad!
I’m the best!

Stop helping out these bums sap 😂

Holding speed boost while shooting will slow the shot down, and create good rebounds.
I usually left trigger and open my hips and aim low and far on the pad.
