- Wow it's been a while hasn't it? This time, looking at a cult classic Key To The Kingdom. Will it hold up all these years later?

This channel is a real breath of fresh air. I'm so happy I've stumbled upon it.
I'm so lucky that I've found your channel. Love it!
I remember seeing the advert for this on TV when I was small and thinking that it was the most amazing looking thing ever. Years later I remembered about it and bought a copy off eBay. Got some friends together, all of them HeroQuest veterans, and had a game. We all hated it with a passion. It's now become a long running joke between us all, any nonsense and I'll force you to play Key To The Kingdom
Yay you're back! Brilliant review 👍😃
The "Insectoid Witch" always freaked me out as a kid.
i had this game and loved this game
Restoration Games is going to print a new version of this and I’m pumped!
So I’ve heard! Yeah I’m intrigued but key to the kingdom sits fairly low on my list of favourite games. Knowing restoration though, they’ll probably do a phenomenal job making it fun
@@downfromtheattic seems like they completely revamped the game; made the theme more whismical; changed the main objective to defeating the demon king rather then escaping the kingdom with a key and I assume just made it more balanced and involved. I'll have to give it a shot.
@@superdohHi, the new one or this one is nicer?. I await your response, thank you
@@Leo-yt8tf I haven’t tested it yet but from what I hear they improved the gameplay on the new one
@@superdoh I was looking for some board game titles where there may be some traps/pitfalls drawn on the squares of the board or by cards or cards already present in the game drawn with such as a falling boulder or a bear trap, a trap, etc. ...if you know any, list them here. Thank you
Top review Luke !
thanks!
I think this game will need a revised update like return to dark tower & world of yo-ho. The only options are how you carefully roll your dice & carefully move your game piece figure.
I love these videos, but theres one problem. There aren't enough of them. If you make these on a daily or even weekly basis it would be an amazing channel not to say that it isn't amazing already.
Thanks Dave, well I have three reviews written up ready to film, there'll be a new episode along very soon :)
DownFromTheAttic thanks, I really enjoy this channel I've been watching old videos all day
@@downfromtheatticHi, I'm Italian, what do you think about Shadows Over Camelot? Do you know if it's nice or slow?
raise your glasses do you know him?
I await your response, thank you
I am highly considering making a compilation of 07:23 moments
100% agree with you brother! Game looks nice but is dreadful to play.
Excellent review as always!!
Thanks Matt, I saw your review and glad I'm not alone in thinking this game is overhyped. It looks fantastic, full marks on presentation... but I just don't find it a fun experience. Find too the more people playing the chance of anyone getting to the exit with the Key and a treasure is near impossible, everyone is crushing each other with the board flips. You get stuck in a vicious circle with it.
How would you make this game more playable? And I don't mean house rules. I mean, if you had carte blanche to remake this game, what would you add, take away, or change?
Key To The Kingdom looks interesting with flip gimmick,
but maybe better as video game board game?
but by adding addition tweaks and balance of the rules
as options would make it better?
I've not played the restoration version but from accounts I've read they've done fixes to the gameplay to make it work. I can't deny that the flip mechanism is unique and a interesting addition to the play. I just feel the rules for the original game are flawed and don't utilise the idea the best.

Ah that good, still a video game version
would be good,
like a able to remix modern and vintage the games into one.
Having animations and visuals and sounds,
maybe adding a wizard as a playable character, a coop mode against the ai players stuff like that.

Have this game but my box art is different
