Lenovo Laptops have been my go to for vMix productions. I have: Lenovo LOQ i5 1342H - RTX 3050 - 24 GB RAM Lenovo Legion 7 16iTHg6 - i7 11th gen - 3060 ti - 64 GB RAM Lenovo Legion 7 Pro 16iRX8H - i9 13900HX - RTX 4080 - 64 BG RAM Theyve all worked great for me. Usually doing a 6 camera+ production with a constellation or atem extreme. Even with the lenovo LOQ, an atem mini extreme and a rodecaster I can run 6 camera productions with vMix while streaming and recording replay. It surprised me and it was super cheap. The only downside of the LOQ is there is no thunderbolt and I use a PCIE box for cameras / key and fill graphics.
Cool thanks for these tests and updating the reference system list. Have you guys tested the xenon w platform by any chance? Single socket workstation cpus with lots of pcie. Lenovo for example sells some of their thinkcentres with xenon w series cpus. I am really interested how a beefed up system like this would perform with vmix. In our vmix productions we often use 3 pcie capture cards to capture 12 fullhd 50p signals but we’ve had a lot of customers lately asking if we could do the same thing as a 4k production..
Interesting! What would be the maximum capability of newer iGPU like the Intel Arc 8-core inside the new Intel Core Ultra CPUs? Like the 155H or 185H, These even support AV1 encode/decode! Could they do 4 x 1080p30 + 2 or 3 encodes?
We we going to test out these laptops, but had already purchased so many last year we didn't get around to it. We might have to get some of the Gen 2 versions this year, although they will be ones with dedicated NVIDIA GPUs. If you already have one of these laptops though, download the vMix Trial and see how it goes.
Right now I am using Asus Tuf Gaming F15 (Intel 11400H / 16 GB / 4 GB Nvidia RTX 2060 / Thunderbolt 4 ) with BMD Ultra Studio Recorder 3G Thunderbolt device, vMix is working very smoothly for 1080@25 on it and I am getting very good video quality for both in Streaming & Recording..
They don't, but we still receive a few emails each week where people haven't plugged in their laptop and are trying to do multi-cam productions on their laptop. Just trying to remind everyone to plug it in!
In terms of RAM, is there a big difference in the performance of Vmix if your laptop has 32GB of RAM instead of 64GB of RAM? For Vmix situations particularly, what are the main advantages of having more RAM in the laptop? I've been looking at upgrading my current laptop so I can install Vmix on it. I'm looking at the new Lenovo Legion 9i 14th Gen 14900HX, RTX 4090, 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM, 2x 1TB m.2 drives. My current Vmix desktop setup includes having (4) SDI 1080p30 cameras, and (1) 1080p HDMI source all iso-recording each source separately as AVI. I'm also recording (2) outputs of the switched program as 1080p mp4 and 1080p AVI. I'm planning to include NDI sources from Teams, as well as Zoom sessions in the future. Will this Lenovo Legion 9i be suitable for my workflow and perform smoothly without any foreseeable issues? Thanks in advanced for all relevant and respectful comments and suggestions.
Do you mean the Zenbook Duo? We've never tried one as they're usually a bit more expensive than our usual recommendations. Plus you can pick up affordable USB-C monitors or HMDI monitors instead.
If you needed more storage, you could install a 2nd drive. It looks like this model does support but you'd need to double check with ASUS. As you'd be installing it on your own, you may also void warranties, I'm not 100% sure about their policies.
@@vMixhd Dear V Mix team ....I have been using two 4K keys and two HD keys for years now it shows GPu memory over load no matter what I do ....My one suggestion... now when you video.... add four camera input and four video input and stream 4K.... will you show a video.... I want to know how much GPu memory is there.. .. should be shown in the Lap top model you recommend

In Brazil, some people are still in love with the Xeon 2014, 15...
Not only in Brazil mate😂
p5000 16gb here! and great performance
We use an Asus ROG Strix 18 G834JZR with a i9-14900HX, RTX 4080, 32 GB, 2 SSD drives and absolutely love it. It's a beast, but never sweat anything...

I wonder about ARM?
100k🎉🎉🎉
What about replays with this asus?
Do they sell computers without power supplies down there?
Very strange.

Customer: it's not working.
Support: did you try turning it on?
I use RTX3070 , is this a good idea?
Sir please what is the setting of 1080/60p for full hd
Can I add an external 1 TB SSD and use 4-channel replay with this suggested ASUS laptop with an AJA Io X3?

Is the Asus ROG Strix G16 G614JVR good for instant replay? Thank you
Is in your plan to make the software available for macOS
Looking VMix for the macOS
Just buy a PC.
Hi, no plans for a Mac version sorry.
So what about their built-in built-in double screen?
