Same here, really crazy so many of us remember playing but not what game it was. I guess because it's not a mainline Mario game. The space level always stood out to me as being really challenging and fun
The best Mario Game Boy game ever created IMO. The music ranks up there with Koji Kondo's composition, the new enemies are creative, fun, and even cute, and we still have plenty of classic SMB enemies. They brought over things from SMW I didn't think they would be able to fit in a Game Boy game, such as drill jumping, picking up shells, and a replay-able map. The bunny ears power up is ingenious, and the way they were able to up the ante graphically speaking with the original limitations was just excellent. It makes the first SML look like a beta by comparison. And this color redux? Excellent!!
What's even weirder is that the coloration of Super Mario Land 2 was hard-coded into the GameBoy Color, meaning Nintendo could have chosen the correct colors, yet didn't. I think it was because of the lack of screen lighting that they painted everything in light turquoise.
Mario Land 2 is a classic game that's been made even better - the color graphics really show off what an impressive, good-looking game this was on the Game Boy. Happy New Year, everybody!

Metroid was 1991. Also, Metroid 2 wasn’t all that great until the Game Boy Color era because without the colors it looked bland and hard to explore because most rooms looked the same.
Man, seeing this game in color just reminds me how impressive the graphics were on the original when it dropped. It had Super Mario World-esque graphics on the gameboy. I’d kill for the absolute best of the gameboy to get a collection release on the Switch

What!? Im crying. Very nostalgic soundtrack. My brother and I love this game a lot, way back 23 yrs ago, and now all those good memories are coming back. We've recorded all the soundtrack in cassette tape. I want to go back in past right now.
My brother had the Game Boy, and this was one of his many games. Watching this video brings back memories-I'm so wanting my own Game Boy. True, I could download it and play it in emulation, but that doesn't have quite the same nostalgia as the hardware, and I'd much rather collect the physical games.

Jerky's COC Yeah, it was a nice touch but it was only there so you could tell the difference between Super Mario and Fire Mario in black and white. Same reason why the 1up heart replaced the 1up mushroom too.
Oh, cool! I had no idea this had finished! People have been trying to do this for a decade now, it feels like. Last I checked, it still crashed after every level and was a pain to play. I'm so glad it's complete!
My story of Nintendo Gameboy (It's Real) In 2010, I was 8 years old, I had a friend in school who was kind of a short tempered guy but kind. One day the teacher scolded him for no reason(he got blamed for something he didn't do), so he got angry and waited for teacher to continue the lecture, as lecture resumed he took out a Nintendo Gameboy Color (at that time I didn't know anything about those) and he started playing this Mario game( the game in this video) in the middle of the lecture with full volume(we all heard the background music, and music of Mario taking coins),teacher noticed him and they had a good argument till the bell rang. It was lunch break, I approached him I really wanted to know more about that Nintendo Gameboy, I can't believe he wanted to exchange it with me in place of a comic book.I agreed and took it home but then realized it was unfair, anyway I played it for a few days (almost completed the game) and returned it.. I left that school an year later, Sadly I am not in contact with him anymore, I haven't seen him for like 7 years, idk a thing about him. All I remember is his Face and his Gameboy. I have been looking for this game for Years, all I could remember was a thing named Nintendo, the image of that bird boss and sound of Mario flying with those bunny ears. I am soo happy today I found this video. It brings old memories back. I lost contact will all my friends of that school. Kinda sad for me... I hope I'll meet them someday.
I don't think so. You will only see them again if you're lucky and if fate decides to like you. Not like me. I lose everything and they never come back. I have lost all hope in humanity and in my pride and joy that I once had. So anyway good luck finding them
Wario's major debut. Sadly like Daisy, this game was his only appearance in the main Super Mario series, Super Mario 64 remake on DS aside. But thankfully, unlike the former, Wario became instantly popular as a character enough to become the star of his own series afterwards.
I still remember a classmate in PE in high school brought his Game Boy and this game to school, the game amazed me. I bought the game not long after, played this sucker to death. Still have my copy in box to this day.
Was about to come on here and throw in a little complaint about some of the music being repetitive... Then 20:10 happened, and instantly a part of my memory triggered some nostalgia.
