as a highlander i agree. gaelic is scottish/irish traditional language in old days its still used in some parts of scotland and ireland
Another good reaction kevin god bless brother much love from Scotland
I’m 42 and I remember this from 9 years old! I laughed, I cried laughing and so did my father! The best comedian Scotland or the UK has ever produced!
One of the great things about watching An Audience With is the celebrity spotting game you can play. In this edition alone, there was Joanna Lumley, Julie Walters, Nigel Planer, Jimmy Tarbuck and Queen's Roger Taylor as well as folks sadly no longer with us like Michael Parkinson, Robbie Coltrane, Bob Hoskins, Roy Kinnear and Brian Glover.
No no no… at 35:57 that’s the great old time character actor Roy Kinnear. He’s been in a lot of great movies including the 1965 military film “The Hill” (worth watching).
You may have seen him in the 1971 Gene Wilder original “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” film.
Kevin: "Let's check out An Audience with Billiny Colleny"
Me: 😂😂😂
I remember watching this back in the 80s and even today it is the best audience with he is not just the best ever uk comedian but the greatest comedian of all time
The old lady on the bus and the dwarf on the bus ones are both hilarious
You seriously thought Roy (bald head) Kinnear was Colin (perm headed) Baker 🙄😳
You'll have a job watching The Archers, it's a radio soap 😅
One of the things that makes An Audience With quality viewing is the name spotting game you can play. In this edition alone, this is a who's who of British entertainment, including Angela Rippon, Sir Michael Parkinson, Robbie Coltrane, Dame Floella Benjamin, Ringo Starr, Gloria Hunniford, Queen's Roger Taylor, Julie Walters, Brian Glover from the very first episode of Porridge, Paul Barber, Sandra Dickinson, Joanna Lumley, Paul Nicholas, Jimmy Tarbuck, Nigel Planer, Roy Kinnear, Bob Hoskins, the list goes on. Brilliant ❤ 😊
There was a Doctor in the audience. Peter Davidson, who was the 5th Doctor was on the screen at 38 min 36 secs.
DAVISON
You really ought to have a look at Billy Connolly’s various ‘road’ series, in which he does tours of Australia, New Zealand, America, Alaska, England and even Scotland.
He tours these places on his Harley Davidson trike and visits various interesting places.
The programmes are interspersed with clips of his stand up shows in those very locations. Interesting, interestingly funny and very funny. Do watch and react to the entire programmes though and not just to his comedy clips.
No other ‘reactor’ has done these as far as I’m aware.
No that's not Colin Baker, that's Roy Kinnear who you may know from the original Willy Wonka movie, dad to actor Rory Kinnear, you may know from such things as Black Mirror - The National Anthem, The last few James Bond movies as Bill Tanner, or Inside Number 9 episode 'Zanzibar'.
Oh he did at least one brilliant interview on the Michael Parkinson show. One has Tom Cruise as well, who falls about laughing. Billy is indeed a teller of stories, He isn't a gag merchant, he has an incredible sense of the ridiculous, and recounts episodes from his life. You have to be older or see some old Scottish singers, particularly at Hogmanay, to understand. it really was as he describes. No not Coline Baker. The Archers is a very long standing radio drama. My mother always listened to it.
His interview with Parkinson and Tom Cruise is legendary. The full version of this is so much better. A lot of the best bits were cut out.
There was indeed a full-length 90 minute version of this - which featured a LOT more swearing, particularly in the first few minutes - but, for years, it was only ever available on VHS. Even when Network (R.I.P.) reissued it on DVD, the source material was the original VHS as, I think, the original master tape of the unexpurgated version couldn't be found
17:47 When she didnt wash it
Great choice I've seen this dozens of times , this was a while after he broke the uk and was well known at this point .
The interview and "the joke" that made him famous nationally and not just in Scotland was on Michael Parkinson 1975. Known as "the wife joke"
Short sketches I'd recommend
Dinner party
Wildebeest
Old lady on the bus
Potatoes of the night
Terrorist attack at Glasgow Airport
The guy you thought was dr who actually played one of the dads in Willy Wonka. The next episode of Still game "oot" actually has a whovian surprise for you
Wasn't Colin Baker, it was an actor from the old days called Roy Kinnear, also the Archers is a BBC radio show, its like a radio soap opera that went on for decades and as far as i know it is still going.
You missed so many famous people in the audience, but you don't really seem old enough to remember these people, i knew every single one of them cause i am 54.
A great clip of a chat show to react to would be Billy Connolly and Tom Cruise on the Parkinson show, Parkinson was actually in that audience.
There is an extended version of An audience with Billy Connolly that is an hour and a half long, you seem to have found the shorter version.
Love the Vid P.S with you in the voting thing. Jad people winging at me about election outcomes said did you vote they said know. Said why are you complaining then? 😂
Joe pascal Kevin, you can't say he's not up there. Radio show, not sure you will able to watch, unless they did a special for archies on palladium ❤
There's a full uncut version on TH-cam that is approx 90mins. We'll worth checking out, is far superior to this one.
FOS/GSTQ situation totally different. FOS isn't Britain's anthem, GSTK is
I’m actually surprised it’s taken you to Robbie Coltraine to spot a celebrity
😂
Bob Geldoff surely man
Moira Stewart
Jack charlton
Wincy Willis
Roger Taylor of queen!!
There's a much longer 90 minute version of this I have on DVD which is much better. This shorter 50 minute version is the original shown on TV but after watching the longer version I find this one almost unwatchable. There is a lot of clumsy editing with punchlines to stories cut out and a lot of good stories missing especially when he does the question and answer sections with the celebrities which are completely cut out. If you can find the longer version it is in every way superior to this cut up version as funny as it is
