I liked this film, and I appreciated that there was no swearing in it. The scenery was very good too.
Может, там и есть мат, но я все равно не понимаю по-английски!😀
@@ТатьянаСизикова-ю7ч😂 Nope
For fuck sake. World at war and you look to be offended by a word. Nothing wrong with that word until porno Hollywood turned it into a whole (or hole if you want to be offended) different meaning.
I quite agree with the lady just wrote and said it’s nice to watch a film with no swearing in it. This film is very good.
What a sweet surprise to see Nick Reding! So happy to click on this film. Love British humor. Why do people take things so serious? Learn from the English and laugh, most of all, make others laugh. That is the kindest thing one can do.
A lot of movies in this category are hokey and cliche'd, but this one's definitely got some life and charm to it. And who doesn't like a beautiful woman wearing a dress and heels riding a classic vintage bike. Any woman can do it, sure, but there's just something about Italy that takes it to another level.
💥Worth watching. WW2 English prisoners of war captured in Italy imprisoned in a village as Germany takes over. Nicely filmed, humanely drawn characters, good story.
Eric Newby was a real person. He became a travel writer, but one of his books is the very good "Love and War in the Apennines".
One of his best books was The Last Great Grain Race.
Lovely film nice acting nice story lovely ladies nice gents really enjoyed it !
Loved this movie its not everyday you get ta watch a good ol'e world War 2 enjoyed it ❤
You're confusing the book by Ernest Hemingway in Love and War, where a young ambulance driver falls in love with a nurse. This movie is based on the book by Eric Newby based on his own wartime experience! Excellent film though!
will have to look for the book.
@@lindawhitehead8543 The Eric Newby book is good.
There was a movie that is much better known, made before this in 1996, based on that story of Hemingway.
人情味あふれた 温かいラブストーリー、熱い思いが有るのは良いですね。
What a good movie! exciting, romantic, not stupid.
Wonderful film! So nice to watch something uplifting. Thank you for making this available.
The description is wrong Your description is about the movie titled A Farewell To Arms which is based on Ernest Hemmingwqy's experiences as a volunteer ambulance driver in WW1 Italy before the U.S. entered the war.
Love that it is a true story!
How beautiful she is, how handsome he is. A love story of a beautiful Italian woman and a handsome English man in WWII. Great movie! Thank you for sharing!

This film was great, uplifting! Thanks for posting.
Thank you for this beautiful story of love. My people Italianos my family Rizalo. I remember in Bari they asked me to stay and said I should give Bible study to the pope.
Very nice movie. It shows how the human character can change very quickly Trust to Triator. Even today.
In the war my mother lived near a prison of war camp,in the camp Italians was keep and they used to make wooden dolls and car for the local kids and give cake to there parents, from red Cross parcels, they also picked the kids up from school many had children back in Italy, just don't think this would happen today 😊
I presume this prison camp was in England:
My mum lived on the Thames and the Italians would come and fish there after work…they were very kind to mum…
I am very amazed at your prisoner of war camp.
Some say that it was in England.
In England there was the "London Cage", in Kesington Palace Gardens, where many prisoners committed suicide due to torture.
The Nazis were not the only torturers.
There were a few Italian pow camps near Epping forest and many of them stayed after the war quite a few opened restaurants and a fair few grew vegetables especially cucumbers in large green houses I know a few Italian families who still run the nurseries in Waltham Abbey in Essex.
Makeup and hair on the young women is just too perfect, and they are too giggly for a wartime film!
Maybe they were fascists
Loved this film, would love to see more like it, thank you. X x x
This is in World War 2 not World War 1! Please be more careful with your descriptions.
Great how everybody speaks his own language
I really enjoyed this movie.! 👏🏻🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦
A charming film.
what a wonderful story
Great film, thank you.
The brutality of war, the hard and evil hearts of men, and the finer courage and nobility of those who know better.
Thanks for the film , I really enjoyed it , The leading lady ,wow . Beutifull sets and scenery .
The synopsis is incorrect. You’re citing the 1996 movie with Sandra Bullock based on the story about Hemingway. This is a smaller production 2001 movie. The one you’re citing was directed by Sir Richard Attenborough. Wrong movie; wrong war!
What a nice movie, very surprised how good this is…
Very romantic movie. British soldier little looking Alain Delon and Leonárd Whitening
I can see why you might say Leonard Whiting, but not Delon. Alain Delon was absolutely beautiful when he was younger. And just now I learned that he passed away just over 2 weeks ago! 😕
@@ditzygypsy Yes and Leonard was very beautifull in the world this time very looking Alain Delon face! You need watch Delon sitting in Balkony or Window and he have longer hair totally looking Leonard face. Are you bl. Ind?? Do you not watched They looking twins?? What happen yours eyes?? Delon not died he illuminati free mason fallen angel demon soon giant
@@ditzygypsy What you learned? I long time ago sayed writed very much comments Delon will die but fake die hoax because illuminati free mason Hollywood usually do this with very much stars and Kings Than Elvis Presley Bruce Lee Brittany Murphy Paul Walker James Dean…etc. By the way people sayed Delon looking James Dean but I not think this very thruth I think much different. But Leonárd really looking Delon. Not random this time very much people sayed Leonárd was number 1 beautifull actor in the World
Very enjoyable movie! Thank you!
Oh, he married Wanda. So, this is not fake escapism even if the production is not Oscar worth.
Loved all Eric Newby's books.
Wonderful movie! Thank you.
05:30 kind of got that wrong. The SBS is the Special Boat Service, not section. They are the Royal Navy counterpart to the SAS.
From my opinion wherever English man goes..always win the women heart 😁
British Commandos in WW2 didn't where gangsta black beanies, they wore khaki woollen hats.

Beautiful ❤️ movie
it would help if you had some history lessons very fast or did better research... the film is set in WW2 in the Apennines region of north/central Italy and not in WW1, and the girl is not a nurse!!!!
Whomever wrote this synopsis has probably just Googled the title and no doubt not watched it, wrong film from description
They’ve used the synopsis for the film by the same name from a few years earlier in 1996 with Sandra Bullock, directed by Sir Richard Attenborough, with a story about Ernest Hemingway.
Great film! Thank you 😊

Who writes this crap " love affair between an iconic writer and an American nurse"
English is probably not their first language or they cut and pasted the wrong description from another film they uploaded
During the Second World War, Newby was commissioned in the Black Watch[7] in 1940. As a junior officer in the Rajput Regiment of the British Indian Army, he studied for six months of 1941 in Fatehgarh, India, for the Lower Standard Urdu Examination that was required to command Indian troops abroad.[8] After passing the examination he was posted to North Africa.[1]
He served in the Black Watch and the Special Boat Section, and was captured during an operation against the coast of Sicily in August 1942. He was awarded the Military Cross in 1946[9] for his part in the raid.[1]
Newby was sent to a prisoner-of-war camp, PG21, at Chieti, a few miles inland from Pescara on the Adriatic coast, and later to PG49 at Fontanellato, near Parma. Escaping with Michael Gilbert[10] and other British prisoners after the Italian Armistice, he was helped to hide in the Apennine countryside by a Slovene anti-fascist woman, Vanda Škof (later Wanda Skof),[11] who married him after the war and became a companion on his travels. These experiences were described in his memoir Love and War in the Apennines, which focuses on how he was helped by ordinary Italians. A film, In Love and War, was made in 2001 based on the book, starring Callum Blue as Newby and Barbora Bobuľová as Wanda. He was free until January 1944, when he was recaptured.[1]
What is the real name of this film please, and who was the director ?

It is supposedly based on a true story, nevertheless his decision to give up instead of to run seems unrealistic.
He was really set on keeping the locals safe and he would have given her away if they had tried to run together

The British officer rank of lieutenant colonel was wrong it was shown as a crown then a pip above the crown the actual rank other way round pip and crown crown above pip
Very "loosely" adapted from the real story. Bit of a pity.

Exactly how did he get from England to Italy and then across Italy at the tail end of the war? 😅😢
Via Sicily or Sardinia? With help from the resistance? I believe, that in 1944 the British had ships in the Mediterranean in some places near Italy.

Unfortunately, people are bringing this culture with them to Central America. In Panama the North Americans are ruining the culture and the people by tipping them excessively. It makes it unaffordable for the average Panamanian to eat out as they cannot afford to tip like that. Prices at restaurants in some areas have increased to the point where only some ex-pats can afford to eat there regularly.
entiendo y lo siento.
How does tipping well relate to prices increasing? Seems like a good tip should prevent that. At least it does in other places. Good tips help the servers who are only earning crappy minimum wage. Kind of silly to blame generosity in tipping on high prices, which is irrationally and precisely what you have said. wtf.
