The day after I left for basic in 1968 my dad threw my card collection away. I wasn’t into football cards that much except for the Browns. Loved them. I had a couple of Browns rookie cards. But the baseball cards. I still almost get physical ill when I think of them. I didn’t have any Mantle rookie cards, but had quite a few from 1953 up into the early 60’s. So many cards gone.
