    Had my Mission II for just over 2 months now. Had the blade 5 as my last 4 boards. In comparison, the Mission is not quite as hard wearing (not a huge factor for me - boards aren't that expensive). The Mission has not bounced out a dart yet. The latest Blade I had had a bull like wood, the Mission bull is perfect. The spider seems finer on the Mission. This means it can get a bit knocked out of shape. Overall, I will be sticking with the Mission

    • @DartsReviewChannel
      @DartsReviewChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think boards are never that equal like I mention in the video, I know I have had Blade 5's that have gone all lumpy in just a few months and then I have one that has been fine for nearly a year. I think it really takes a lot of people to report about them to get a good impression of the average, but I also think sometimes bad batches go out and its a bit unlucky if we get one from that. So far thought the comments on the Samurai 2 from a few people seem positive so I'm hopeful for it :)

    Wish I could find one of these in the US for a Blade 5 alternative - just want to try something different but high quality. Looks much better than the Unicorn Eclipse HD2 that I just returned to Amazon. The “white”segments on the Eclipse HD2 were almost as dark as a typical cardboard box....

    Quite a big difference in double and treble sizes compared to the Gladiator, very interesting. The Unicorn board has the same size for double and trebles, and probably better for those averages :D Blade 5 seems to have the smallest segments. Thanks for the detailed reviews :)

    Great review. I was about to mention my observation that this board looks very much like the G3+, but you've mentioned it yourself a second later, so I won't :-) Seriously though, it's looking quite nice, very similar to G3+, however, my G3+ has better painting - I mean none colour on mine protrudes to other segments like it does here on Samurai 2. The spider and the plastic parts look very similar though. Hey, you can measure the size of the whole dartboard. Is it the same diameter as G3+? From what I remember, my One80 dartboards were a fraction smaller than other dartboards, respectively two fractions smaller than Eclipse Pro :-) If I should buy a new dartboard at the moment, I'd go for G3+ again, however it'd be nice to know threre's another dartboard on the market that meets my criteria :-) See ya in six months!

    8:32 yes, the Mission Samurai II and the one80 Gladiator 3+ are produced in the same factory - they're technically the same board

    • @DartsReviewChannel
      @DartsReviewChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you know that for sure? I can certainly believe it as I am sure many of the boards probably are but just wondering if you have some provable evidence of it as would be interesting to get the background details :)

    • @nicokern7615
      @nicokern7615 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DartsReviewChannel well, yes and no
      So no dartboard manufacturer's ever gonna openly say that their board's technically identical to the board of another company as long as the 2 companies in question aren't simply 2 brands of the same big company (like Nodor and Winmau for boards and Winmau and RedDragon for darts)
      So in order to answer this question, we can't look for the classic "smoking gun" kind of evidence
      It's much more like "if something small, slimy and green croaks and jumps, it's a frog, no matter how you call it"
      So, what I do know for certain (from a friend and former darts league team partner of mine who runs a darts shop and has therefore got an opportunity to look behind the scenes from time to times) is that Winmau, Nodor and RedDragon have their boards produced in a factory in Kenya and that this factory solely produces boards for Nodor/Winmau/RedDragon group
      I also know from him that Unicorn, one80 and Mission (and perhaps all other "bigger" companies) have their boards made in 3 factories in China, but there seem to be differences from factory to factory because obviously, you can't compare a one80 Gladiator 3+, probably the most durable board out there, to a Unicorn Ecplise something which would be worn out in like a month
      Now, a very interesting thing I've noticed is that no matter if you buy a one80 Gladiator 3+, a Mission Samurai II or also the knife-wire board Designa sells, the information sheet you get in the packaging and I think also the imprints on the chipboard are identical
      The wires, the density of the sisal etc all match aswell, although the Designa board hasn't got any logos and there are often a few little spots where a little bit of colour "bleeds" into the white areas or another area with colour
      So it seems to me that the Mission Samurai II and the one80 Gladiator 3+ are the "A product" of one of those 3 Chinese factories whilst Designa sells the "B product" or the NPQ product if you will

    • @DartsReviewChannel
      @DartsReviewChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicokern7615 Yes I would agree with that and its pretty much what I noticed over the years to some extent.
      Its common knowledge about the Winmau/Red Dragon/Nodor though as they all come under the Nodor International brand.
      I guess there is only so many places that would go to the expense of having all the equipment needed for making boards so its very likely as you say no more than around 3 main ones in China. I think Shot still make their own boards but dont quote me on that.
      I think there is some others around the world making boards too but not many.
      Only thing is I spoke to the guy from One80 a long time ago when the Gladiator 2 first came out. He explained the process involved in making the boards and the fact they had invested a lot of money trying to make the best most durable board testing everything you could imagine.
      Back then he told me that they really should be selling for around £80+ but because Winmau and Unicorn had created such a competitive market they had to sell it cheaper.
      I cant say for sure if everything he told me was the truth but I saw no reason for him to lie and did not detect anything in his voice to make me think so.
      So its possible that whoever the factory is in China that made it were getting paid by One80 to do all this development etc and now maybe that same factory is just using what they learned to sell the same boards to whoever wants to stick their brand name on?

Been thinking of buying the Winmau blade6 dual core with out the vains showing in the white numbers. But like i said the Mission Samurai11 is a very nice board. @DartsReviewChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! As I said in my other reply there is not a board that is massively quieter than another really. Also there is no consistency in boards like there is with darts as they are made from natural materials so can be affected by the environment and other conditions. We don't have this one here yet. I almost ordered blade 5 but now I'm thinking of waiting on this one. Good review as always. One thing that I wonder watching all these dartboard tests of yours is how come is it "allowed" to have different sized segments. Like shouldn't that be standardized or something?

    • @DartsReviewChannel
      @DartsReviewChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the last rule I read may have been the BDO's about segment sizes but I think the PDC was the same too, it stated the distance between apex of of each wire of a segment should not be more than 10mm, so as long as its less than that its fine :)

      @@Chelskie-darts One of the Dual Cores selling points is that it is vein free, due to the 2 layers of sisal, normal boards have veins in which is just where the biscuits get squashed together and because they are wrapped in a paper covering you see that on such boards, sometimes the paper will pull out too. The whiteness is something that I think depends on how much they bleach the sisal which is a kind of grass fibre. I dont know exactly how it is when they cut it, its probably a straw like colour but I am sure they most bleach it to some degree :)

      @@DartsReviewChannel : mines got a few veins now were the board has heeled , I use my board a lot it’s 1yrs old soon and it’s still in great condition for how many times I’ve absolutely battered it with darts lol , I rotate my board every 4-5 days if I’m doing the standard 1-2-3 hours of playing a day on it , I fancy a unicorn board what the PDC use but cos my lighting system my surround and oche is all winmau I’m abit nervous to change (there’s the ocd right there again lol) I like the blade 5 DC and I probably will get another but get a unicorn aswell and just alternate , I know a lot about sisel as I used to use it were I worked to make ceiling roses , fireplaces , dado rails etc , it’s from cactus plants and it’s a yellow colour like horse hair , really really dry material but can be wet and dried again
