Kimberly’s Story: The need for more awareness and less stigmatization around endometrial cancer

Kimberly is an endometrial cancer (EC) survivor who had not heard of the disease until her diagnosis. Like many other people, she was unaware of the signs and symptoms of EC and disregarded her initial symptoms. After a challenging journey to receiving her diagnosis, Kimberly realized she would have to fiercely advocate for her own health care with the help of her health care team.
Here, Kimberly talks about her signs and symptoms, her experience leading up to an EC diagnosis, and the emotional struggles that came along with it. In addition, she discusses the stigmatization of EC and the need for normalizing the conversation around gynecologic health.
