Jade fucked up her Springboard and then quickly adjusted and scrapped together offense. To me that is professional. The ability to adapt to changes
thing is, we saw her limping up those steel steps just before the springboard. could easily give her an excuse storywise why she botched the spot. and she still recovered from it.
It should also be noted that the ref told AJ Styles about the top rope being looser than usual. That's probably what led to her slip & Damian's foot getting stuck
Jade nearly slipped on the powerbomb too but still protected her opponent which shows good instincts I think her biggest issue is when stuff goes off she isn't great at ad-libbing but that comes with reps give her more house shows with less scripted moments to get used to on the fly adjustments
she botches every single time she's in the ring, keep making excuses she belongs in NXT
CM Punk claims the number one spot on the Hater of The Year list

@@BryRobinson He's far from boring. Ups & Downs has been a bedrock on TH-cam for almost a decade and still exists. Read any of his comment sections to see how many people eagerly rely on his U&D videos instead of watching Raw & Smack-a-down. The fact that things like "the most dangerous move in all sports entertainment" is in the IWC vernacular speaks to how engaged people are with Simon.
tl;dr, there are a trillion adjectives you could use to describe Simon, but boring is not one of them.

There was a lovely moment at the end of the main event when the camera cut from Punk celebrating back to the ring and we could see Damian talking to Drew, and I'm pretty sure he thanked him for both an awesome match but also for lying down in front of the home crowd.
Apart from that, great show, very entertaining matches, but I think if we had cut a bit of the recaps in between we might have had another match with someone from the mid card in there, just to give them some PLE exposure.
The ads and recaps are ponderous man, f’n ponderous.
I saw that moment too. I thought he might’ve been thanking him for getting his foot out of the ropes. That could’ve got bad.
But that means more expense for the company.

There was something up with the ropes last night. Multiple different wrestlers had issues with them.
The ref warned AJ about it in the first match. Should have done that for everyone.
Thank God Bron Breaker didn’t have a match he would ran through them ropes

I am so fucking excited for it I'm getting chills. When the ref was revealed to be Punk, I nearly passed out from excitement. I legitimately felt bad for Drew. This story has been well done so far. Can't wait.
I want to see Drew duct tape Punk to a building and then bring the whole building down on him with a claymore kick and maybe a claymore
Really hope Damian Priest isn't too injured, I seriously feared the worst when his foot got caught.
With Rhea and Dominik out, a third Judgment Day member on the injured reserve is the last thing the group needs.

Alba Fyre really brought it on a big stage. They're a natural tag team so I hope they stay on top for a bit. It always felt like Bianca/Jade were just champs since Asuka got hurt and to give Jade some experience.
I've had the same feelings. I just hope Alba Frye and Isla Dawn have a serious run now, and just don't drop the titles again on RAW or Smackdown.
They have a really cool entrance. Lots of potential here.

I have to politely disagree. Bianca and Jade morphed into a great team. Double team finishers, and matching outfits. Just pure gold. Plus you have the wrestling skills of Bianca and the pure power moves of Jade. It’s a win win. What started as a random put together, blended into a really great team.

My first thought when Cody went for Attempted Murder with the steps was ‘that’s going on the crime counter’.
People online are funny with their "Cody isnt a good champion" people LOVE this man.

@@Chachibenji he is quite popular, I personally don't like him mainly him being booked as super cena for last 2+ years, he has 2 singles losses in 2+ years, even super cena had more. If cody doesn't drop the belt in a few months people would start treating him the same as they did with cena. I hope gunther challenges him for the title at SS and wins whereas Finn can screw priest and beat him for the title at SS.

Well it's probably because he's kinda old school and he wanted to keep it as real as possible and didn't want to just pop up in random street clothes.And by old school I mean it could be something he picked up from his dad but anyways that would be my only guess 🤷🤷
absolutely a great show! I am now HOOKED on this TripleH era of WWE. If I could only free up my Friday nights to catch Smackdown I could keep up with all the storylines...and see more of CM Punk once he gets cleared which apparently is soon. AHHHhhhhh yes. Fantasy life is important in this harrowing world of just making ends meet.

Clash At The Castle was a great show with the best match being the opening match. Some moments of the night was Otis and CM Punk screwing Drew again to further build to eventually them fighting each other.
Cool thing i realized was that AJ spot where he got hit with the chair was used in TNA with Decay vs The Wolves in Monsters Ball

I was in the crowd for both smackdown and Clash, both shows were superb. I'm disappointed drew didn't pick up the win, but his program with punk doesn't really need the title in the mix, and Damien is a beast in the ring.

I was stunned as well. If the title was meant to change hands, I'm sure the GB's would've pulled Cody's mom out of the crowd, and threatened to hurt her or something. I dunno.
It was just as similar to the match between AJ and Alestair Black at EC 2020 that was a no DQ match, where Black was outside the ring with Karl Anderson just standing there watching. I'm like, "Karl, don't just stand there. Do something! Kick him, or something!" From a mark's standpoint, I wouldn't have liked it if he had, but as a smark, it would've made sense for the match stipulation.

Iam ok with the Drew/CM angel as long as it keeps CM away from the Title picture. Thats his job now, putting over talent without the Title.
At some point he has to be part of it, but yah, for now, a feud like this is better. Punk is good at telling stories and can get a storyline over without a title being involved (like the awesome feud with MJF).
By next years Wrestlemania I think he has to be part of it, since I feel like they do want to have him in a main event at Wrestlemania. He can’t lose a whole bunch, so we’ll see how this feud plays out. But any talent that has appeared on camera with him is going to be over just by being a part of it, so there can be some back and forth with winning and losing I think.
Punk deserves another championship run.
What I don’t want to see though is CM Punk being like Chris Jericho in 2012/2013 where he loses at every PLE he’s on because then it becomes ‘Oh, they beat CM Punk; so what?’
@@monicabrill5821 no Punk does not. He is washed and injury prone. He should just be used in a similar fashion to Michaels' 2nd wwe run. He had his title run in AEW, now he needs to just have a couple memorable feuds before calling it quits.

That crowd was hot all night!!! I am so ready to see uber heel Gable!!! I was torn about the main event. I really want Drew to have a good championship run but Damian needs to hold onto the belt for a bit. Great ending and i am pumped for McIntyre vs Punk!!!

The only issue I have with Jade is Hunter, and WWE made a big deal about AEW not training her right, sent her to the performance center for a year, and she works EXACTLY like she did before. The slip was just one of those things that happened, though. Thankfully, she didn't get hurt.

Great review. Great event. I was genuinly shocked Priest won and huge respect after this. That injury was either really bad or he sold it perfectly. What a professional and they put on a great match. Punk v Drew needs no title and sets up Gunther v Priest at Summerslam.

The longer I sit with this PLE, the more I come around to it. I was a bit volatile after some of the surprises, but I’ve come to appreciate those surprises, looking toward the bigger picture and whatnot.
This was a great event from top to bottom it was a great way to enjoy my Saturday afternoon

In just under a decade, Gable has had tag title runs with Jason Jordan, Shelton Benjamin, Robert Roode, and the whole Alpha Academy angle including tag title opportunities in major PPV triple threats up until now. Made it to the finals of the King of the Ring, and has put in a trilogy with Gunther and another trilogy with Zayn. Clash At The Castle was Chad Gable's longest match in the WWE ever (his second longest is the NXT Heritage Cup). This is his breakout storyline. Money In The Bank and Summerslam coming up. Chad Gable is having the best year of his career right now regardless of wins/losses. The breakup of Alpha Academy ? Otis versus Gable ? This is Gable's year

@9:16 - Chad Gable is AWESOME! This dude is going to be around for a long time and this current story line kinda speaks to it. When I first got back into WWE, after Vince left because I started to REALLY dislike him and his Business style, I saw Chad Gable and literally had to look him to see if he was maybe Kurt's son or something! Same kinda physique, same kinda facial features, same sorta-kinda background.
I can't wait to see what THIS storyline holds for him but also ABSO see him wearing a Big Belt soon.

I suppose it was too early to take the belt off of Cody, even if it was to set up his regaining it at SS, but they did have it perfectly set up for either Mama Rhodes to quit on Unconscious Cody's behalf to save her boy…or for AJ to grab Mama and Cody quits to save her. But I guess since they went an entire year with Roman making only ONE one-on-one defense, they don't want Cody to be passing the belt back and forth (even though briefly losing belts never hurt Austin or Cena's "top dog" status) and we're going to have Yet Another Streak.
This does make me worried that Trips only knows one way to book, though.
Love CM Punk and get why they made that booking choice, but the end of the show gets a brown down. Mama Rhodes slapping AJ gets a golden up.
Womens tag result was the biggest pop i personally gave. Especially given the poor booking they had after the whole "unification" of the womens tag titles... Very happy for them, hope they get a decent run.
Drew and Punk need to have a Hell in a cell match at Summerslam. That is a good use of the structure
I was there and after punk finished and was outside the ring, I was lucky enough to be next to the cm punk guys hugging him.
I looked that man dead in the eyes and without saying anything he just looked at me and laughed 😂 he knew he had won big time with this one 😂

As someone who bought tickets for Clash Wales and was so close to buying the Scottish tickets just so my son could see Drew win the championship, I felt sorry for those who actually did buy tickets. They're not cheap either. Especially for a family of 4.

To me, the Women's Tag Match botches all seemed connected, it looked like there were about 3 small botches in a row, and all of them involved the top rope, it seemed like people were trying to use the top rope for something, and each of them found it slipperier than they expected. Was weird for sure.

The fans were so loud they drowned out Drew’s music! By the nature of it, drowning it out is borderline impossible. I was impressed. Dawn and Fyre winning was great too! Just so I get it straight, since Cole can’t 😁, dawn is the redhead and Fyre is the one that is usually a brunette, correct?
My only complaints were, AJ chickening out (I get why, but thought it was dumb) and I thought Bayley’s win was lame. Though I guess it’s the best way to make them both look strong. Speaking of, they really went out of the way to make everyone look strong. Dawn and Fyre had to have a sneaky win to make it more believable, but from here on out they need to be booked to look stronger.
Here are my booking predictions: at Money in the bank it will be The Bloodline vs Cody, Orton and Owens. At Summerslam it will be Cody Rhodes vs Solo Siqoa. Solo wins and then The Rock comes out and Solo gives him the title.
Slipping off the rope can happen, but Jade’s tapping out motion was really weird and distracting

I still feel like a steel steps segment was not really fitting a babyface champion. Not only he has already won the match, but he made Styles say "I quit". The escalation was really unnecessary. Especially considering that we saw way more out of line heels, and AJ "deserving extra punishment" felt kinda forced.

I have a feeling Gable is going to write off Zayn for a while. Zayn has been going hard without a break for a long time, so I bet Chad both adds the Creed Brothers, but he holds an ankle lock lock enough to keep Sam Zayn out for at least 2 months
I loved clash at the Castle I think my only complaint is the issue with the ropes.
When Matt Damon cost Drew the title I was shocked.
With two guys like Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles in an I Quit match I find it weird that either one of those guys would actually say I Quit.
Im not being negative but Jade still needs a lot of work. She looked lost, like bianca was telling her the 5 spots she had to memorize and even then it didnt look good.
They also spoiled the new tag champions happening with that nameplate glitch 😂😂
I don't get the backlash on Jade. She had some great cool moves. The top rope slip can literally happen to anyone I've seen all time greats slip on the rope. The tapping was most likely Shana shoot choking her.
Two questions Simon,1 what's this oppression with Shane McMahon? and 2 why Piper Niven always dressed as Xena in the ring lol. Clash was great this weekend

I thought the mistakes were handled pretty professional (Jade), to top business professional (Drew getting Priest TF out of there and going on to have a banger). The matches were all really good, story and action. Crowd was next level again. Short sweet and to the point. Not much to hate at all, I thought it was really good, particularly for a non-big 4 E event.
When Jade kissed the title goodbye like Naomi did when she lost the championship before handing it to the ref made me instantly sad cause I know what was gonna happen 😞
Cody vs aj reminded me of Christian cage vs adam Copeland match from a couple months ago
