That is a brilliant strategy in the battle to align the y pipe clamp. The camera angle while you used one hand to position the clamp and showed the slightly loose pipe move into and out of alignment was perfect! Thank you.
It would be nice if you told us what size the nuts and bolts are on the y pipe!!!!! I’m working on this right now and have scraped all the hide off of both hands trying to fit this thing back together….
Not that much movement of the up-pipe if it's a new one. We're struggling getting the Turbo to align with the up-pipe so that we can get the clamp on. The up-pipe will not move that freely even with all the bolts removed on both sides? Thought we were good but started it up and it's leaking extremely bad at the clamp. Probably have 2 finger gap in the clamp when tight? Going to try again in a few days when it warms up into the 40s.
Great tip! I was just wrestling with that y-pipe wondering how much I needed to disconnect!

I have a stock EGR link. Do I really just loosen ONE bolt on the drivers side and it has that much play?
Yup. Just 1
I am sure it is a great idea....but I cannot see what you are doing. Need better camera vantage and lighting
