Thanks Christopher. My 10-month review of the FG9 is here th-cam.com/video/sSjP_I9sX5w/w-d-xo.html made two days prior to this one. You can see how anguished I was about returning the dread.
I love it. At 10 months we're well past the honeymoon and I plan to keep it. I'm using Thomastik-Infeld AC111 strings now for a slightly mellower sound and easier playing.
I have LL16D and my shoulder hurts after practising more than 30 minutes. Now I"m thinking about this or LS56 Custom II ARE. How is it for finger style ? Thank you.
An LS36 or 56 will sound great no matter how you pluck the strings. But I wouldn't bet that the small difference in size between LL and LS will sort out your shoulder pain. You don't want a problem like that to get worse over time. Experiment with different postures with the guitar to find what relieves the stress on the shoulder. I use something the classical guitar posture with either a strap (see my recent CG3 improvisation lesson) or a guitar support (like in this one). I don't use a foot stool because that gives me a sore back. Try to find a posture that puts the lower bout of the guitar down low between your legs. Sometimes the lower bout rests on the chair between my legs when I use a strap.
I've tried standing up. I also bought a d'addario strap but it still hurts. I don't like the sound of ukulele or banjo, otherwise I would have chosen that route. Then my options are quite limited, currently I'm between Martin 00-28 12 or the LS56.Or seems like my guitar playing days are over. Thanks for the reply though.@@the-fsb
These are amazing guitars. All this video does is show how crappy someone can make it sound. What's with the scrapping of the pick along the neck. Is that supposed to be musical? One of the worst reviews I've ever seen.
Appreciate the review. I’m looking at the FG9 and this LS 36. Pretty cool that you made a review kind of talking about them both

I put a bit of slack in the truss rod since I recorded this. You can sometimes hear the low relief in this recording.
After watched your video, I ordered LSX 36c, the cutaway and pickup integrated version of LS36
Wow! Congratulations. I hope you'll be very inspired by it.
How's this guitar treating you? Did you end up keeping it?

If the FG 9 is too loud then why not get the FS 9
If you're asking me: FS9 wasn't a thing in Dec 2023. And as I said in my FG9 video, too loud wasn't the only reason I couldn't grow to love it.
Not the same neck. LS/LL a bit thinner nut width if memory serves.
I hate to say this but I will... you do your guitars a great disservice by playing so aggressively. Relax your hands and fingers! Dump the pick.
lol worry about you’re own playing
Sorry… but I agree .. this is a horrible review .. what the heck .. is this a parody ?
Well, obviously, duh. But of what?

Ha ha, no, it's theological, not musical. Specifically the pick rattle on frets is eschatological. Thanks for listening so carefully.
What an unhappy guitar player...!
