Hey both. Happy New Year. We’ve just had a some snow followed by some wind and sleet, perfect film watching weather. We chose our shelves as they fit Blu-ray’s exactly, both in height and depth, and it really makes a difference. The DVDs were demoted to another shelf ages ago as it made no sense to design around their inclusion in the main shelves. We regard ‘Slow Horses’ as probably the best TV we’ve seen on a streaming platform ever, it’s that good. Give Series 1 a try. Best wishes from snowy Wales.
Happy New Year! We've had a little snow but it's mostly freezing cold these days so we are hibernating more, reading, and catching up on films and TV. Plus we've started the big shelf reorganizing project. More details/video coming in the vlog out next week. We quickly realized we would not be getting any extra room on the Criterion shelf but are having fun reconfiguring other shelves to have more space for Kino and Warner Archive titles. Thanks for the recommendation on "Slow Horses". Unfortunately, we gave up on "Silo" and "Shrinking" after a few episodes (maybe we weren't in the mood or too much pressure with the free trial). Next time we sign up for Apple TV+, "Slow Horses" is at the top of our list especially since you recommended. Hope you stay warm and all the best to you from a freezing cold NY.
The height difference is the main reason I keep DVDs separate from BDs. BTW: I see you have Gun Crazy in your WB collection. That will turn 75 on the 20th!
Yes, good plan. We quickly realized that there is not enough room to reconfigure the Criterion shelf so we have other plans which we are detailing in the vlog that will be out next week. Cool that Gun Crazy is turning 75 this year.
Love the Gold diggers series, most of those Busby Berkley films including Dames and Footlight Parade, just wonderfully fun and entertaining musical numbers and choreography as well. Glad you enjoy them too.
Ta for the Somebody Somewhere recommendation. I didn't know this one but might be able to watch it on Now TV, here in the UK. Will see if I can add asap. 👏
@@CinemaDaveMedia Season 1, episode 1 watched. I cried and I'm in/ hooked. Going to tell a friend about it as know she'll love it too. I'm not sure if the lass singing at the end, would like to be compared to anyone, but I heard Alison Moyet very much when she sang. Hope she would take that as high praise. Ta again for recommending. 👍

Happy New Year! I have the Gold Diggers 1933 on dvd. Was chatting to a friend last night who hates musicals. I love them. 👏
Happy New Year! I love the Gold Diggers films too and continue to rewatch year after year.

Somebody Somewhere is such a good show in my humble opinion. If you watch, let us know what you think. We loved it!
@@CinemaDaveMedia Will do. I read up on my IMDb app, and feel I'll love it too.

@ Glad you are enjoying it. I wish they were planning to make another season.
@@CinemaDaveMedia Yeah, I am. I should have gone to bed, but am now watching the second episode of season 1.
