    The real fun begins when you want to layer another sample (melody, chords,…) from another record. Now you have to make that sample not only match the BPM of the beat, but also the key of the first sample.

      This definitely has a be covered on another advanced sampling video, taking sampling to another level with that method. I appreciate you sharing your feedback brother.

      That Pete Rock/Marco Polo style joint. Luckily if you save your chops as new samples it’ll show you the guesstimated key under samples on the program edit screen and you can tune it up or down. makes it a lot easier!

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fade2blak91 yeah having that on the update has been such a game changer on the new video I just uploaded I go through using that feature you mentioned a little more to match the tempo by pitching it up or down.

    Easiest way to find the tempo of a loop is using slicing imo. Set slice to manual, find start and end point by listening and looking for those 2 slices. Delete the slice markers inside the loop untill you only have one start and end slice marker. Truncate everything outside the loop.
    Then you can read the bpm of the screen for sample editing. Once you get the hang of it you can do it very fast. Sry for not going into more detail of ´how to´ but i´m not in front of my mpc right now. But you get the idea behind it.

      @@PeteOnTheBeat my next video will be follow up to this video but I remember you mentioning this topic on another video of mine and it’s something that I’m going to work on and put out very soon. The cool thing about Ableton is that you can upgrade the version when you want without having to purchase the full price. I would recommend just buying a midi keyboard some of them might just cost you $100 which come already with the light version of Ableton and once you have that you can upgrade with a fraction of the price to the standard version plus you already have a midi keyboard almost for free lol hopefully it makes sense but Ableton is worth the investment in my opinion.

    Can anyone help me with how to set the samples to one shot? When I have samples on pads I can't play another sample on top without it cutting out.

      Hey Anthony, Great question and the cable that I am using is this one right here amzn.to/3rGkdxy also don’t forget if you are using an iPhone you’re going to need the little iPhone adapter which is this one amzn.to/3fRnsNi With those two cables you’ll be solid and ready to go

    I’m in the market for a drum machine / sampler. Can anyone tell me why I should get an MPC One over a Maschine Plus?!?

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey brother, unfortunately I am not too familiar with the machine plus but if anybody else has some input, please chime in. I feel like the MPC has everything I need so I haven’t looked elsewhere.

    Hi! When I press down on a pad, any pad, I can hear a sort of "sticking" sound, as if the actual pad is making that sound when pressing the sensor down. Now, I don't have any issues with any of the pads, they work wonderfully, but I'm just wondering if this is normal and if any of your MPC ONE units make the same sound?

    I’ve found 1/4 slices are best for a certain sound in most 4/4 cases. Chopping on the boom and the bap, it swings more pleasing to the ear IMO.

    When you pitch stuff down on the mpc why does it make it slower as well ?

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes so since it is slowing down the pitch of the audio not only does the audio slow down with the pitch but also the tempo is baked in the audio as you’re pitching it down. Now there is an alternative to this using warp audio where you could slow down the tempo without messing with the pitch of the audio which I will probably cover in another video. Hopefully this makes sense. Thank you for dropping by in the comments by the way.

      @@malobeats of course I understand that's just been my challenge getting stuff to go along with my drums when I try to pitch shift it and make it work. Because like you said just playing a sample over makes it a little boring. But I understand I'm gonna mess around with the warp and semitones like you showed in this and have some fun . Because sampling is amazing.
