    Just ordered mine. I will be looking to see if I can drill through the extrusion to secure it to the door frame so that the screw holes end up behind the door stops when fitted.

      I did the same with mine , it's perfect now. Holes are hidden behind the door stop now.

    Clearly a very practical, robust design offering reliable built-in repeatability. I hang doors for a living and am very interested in this kit. Is it available in USA?
    Initial thoughts: Fiddling with the little allen key (and soon losing it) will be immediately tedious, later annoying. A Bondhus driver thrown in would be a very welcome addition out in the field. Small diameter clamping knobs for each block would be better still. I don't head to a job to hang doors without bringing a full length jamb level. Given this common transport requirement, I wonder if it would be a cost effective option for you to offer dedicated Imperial and metric full length extrusions as long as common entry doors. They could be carried along with the jamb level and would save time by eliminating the connecting steps (and the possibility of losing the associated little parts.)

    Nice looking jig! Can it be used on a frame with a door stop?

      That's exactly what I'd like to know. If I got this it would be mostly used on existing frames with a rebate. No good if you can only use it on the door! 😂

    Is there a video showing router or trimmer use, and the type of router bit? Thanks 👍

    Clever solution, very neat but that allen key is going to get lost. How about putting a handle on the key in a bright colour it won’t then be lost so easily and will make us old hands use this.

      If you already have a jig that's suitable, then you wouldn't need to

      fair point ,but your router template i would definatly buy i have the festool equivelent of both and are very fiddley to set up 10 out of 10 for the thumd screws for tightning it up and 11 out of 10 for the magnetic puck could do with it being slightly longer than 1 meter for cutting out sinks and maybe a case/bag for storage but great jig@@Benchdogtools

    So am I right in assuming this can't be used on rebated FD30 door frames?

    • @mphalo1804
      @mphalo1804 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could use it to mark where the hinges go on the frame.

      Hi, I’m Dan Cox and as Ralph mentioned in this short video I had the original concept idea for this hinge jig. Working closely with Ralph he developed it further.
      If you don’t care then perhaps scroll on.
