I know this is an old video but i really appreciate your dedication to your ideas about the loxx. Every reason you gave made sense and you showed it well , great thought out equipment review . Take care in 2024!

The best thing about these that I think makes them the best is the nut holding them on the strap is on the inside, so the strap can not come off the lock if it’s clipped to the guitar, even if the nut comes loose. Brilliant !

I agree in fact after testing a few different models on my guitars including Schaller, Loxx, and Dimarzio, the Loxx are my favorite strap locks hands down. They are a pain to put together but once done, they work great with guitar and are low profile so fit in case easily. PROTECT your guitar folks! Nothing is worse then to drop an expensive guitar and have it smashed to bits. Spend the 10-20 bucks to save your expensive instrument.

I've since remembered that Parsons Music in HK sells LOXX products. I knew I'd seen them somewhere!

Hey Martin, do you still use LOXX? How do they hold up with use after some time? Any failures? Do pins get "chewed up" and not hold the lock after months of use? I ordered 2 sets so I'm wondering how well they'll hold up :D

mouthmw absolutely no issues with any of my Loxx sets, I have them on 12 guitars. They're designed to hold tarpaulins on boats in gale force winds, so I'm not anticipating any problems holding guitars onto straps!

Awesome! What about the screw length, is 16 mm long enough? I saw that they sell a screw set which has 2 pairs of 22 mm long screws as well, but I haven't ordered that. I figure the stock screws should be enough for my Fender Precision and MM Stingray?

mouthmw I've not bothered with the longer screws, even in my 9.9lb Yamaha TRB bass. I think you'll be fine, as long as the current screw threads aren't too butchered. I did have to fill one screw hole in my Ibanez (toothpicks and superglue) but that was because the guitar previously had DiMarzio Clip-Lock straps on it, which have bigger screws.

I've done the toothpick/glue trick before, so if it needs to be done, no problem :) Thanks a lot, you gave me some inner peace! :D

Hi Martin really good review and a good idea about different lengths for the bass height I have one question for you I have shaller strap locks on my Jon Shuker bass Was it easy enough to screw in the loxx screws to the shaller size holes?? Thanks

Hey, thanks for watching. I can't comment specifically about Schaller strap lock holes (although my Mike Lull bass might have come with them?) but I've never had any issues screwing them into anything. I did have to do the tooth-pick dowel trick with one of my basswood Ibanez guitars because Ibanez use thicker screws for their strap buttons, and Loxx do make longer screws if you need them but I've never had to buy any.
