There IS NO greater band, well thats how it is on my planet. Been following these guys since I was 16. Robert Smith is a lyrical poet. Is it just me or am I the only one thats ever notice how this guy doesnt add the repetitive chorus's like every other musician in the entire world. And that my friends is why this guy is ultimately the best.

So you sir, by your own account (just a few comments bellow), recognise that you only really know THIS song from The Cure, agree that it is great, but state, somehow, that the band behind the song is not. Fried brain cells, indeed. You find meaning in this song because of some movie (unknown to me). That's fine. It is also fine to disagree with The Cure being the "greatest" band (whatever that means). But this band is, without any doubt, one of the best Goth bands ever, and I suggest, for your own enlightenment, to be acquainted not only with their songs, but with the context from which they were created. Post-Punk is one of the most prolific periods of western pop music, and one must be aware of the historic period it was born, and listen to such bands like Banshees, Joy Division, The Glove and many others, to fully grasp what is their true meaning.

Quick2000 What kind of music are you into? The Cure have A LOT of songs. I love The Cure they're my favorite band, but there are some songs that I don't feel or get into 100 percent. I'm sure there are other songs by this great band that you would like.
BTW, the whole image of The Cure is what makes them stand out, especially Robert Smith. When you see Robert Smith, you know that's Robert Smith.

This song just picks you up, and takes you somewhere else. Heavenly stuff.

One of their many brilliant songs...I'm addicted to this one. No surprise that they were one of Bowie's favorites....

30 yrs later and his voice hasn't changed. It sounds as good as the first time I ever heard this as a teenager... They just don't make music this good any more.

Pure, live, organic, no lip syncing, no auto tuning music by a band who has toured the globe since the 1970"s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
