these remind me of something, last december some xen models and files were found in black mesa source's files during an update, they were later removed for obvious reasons, since Xen isn't done yet, but someone was able to screenshot a non-textured render of black mesa's version of the gonarch's model and a list of most if not all of its animations names at the time. there was simple stuff like "MeleeStab1" "ChargeStop" "IdleSearch" and "Run" but there was a few amazing names like "Teabag_RubBallz_OnDeath" and "SACK_WACK_ATTACK"

I think the joke behind that sprite name is the implication that random unexpected energy spheres appearing in a lab after some equipment breaks down are probably going to emit radiation and give you cancer if you get to close, so the player character's choice to enter one isn't particularly smart. Joking about cancer is taboo for many people though, and could be viewed as insensitive towards families who have suffered through cancer, but honestly this is very mild in terms of offensiveness, nobody would get fired today for making a joke like this

As someone who gives ridiculous and dumb names to things all the time, some of these definitely had some frustration behind them, being given easily recognizable names that show the frustration of someone developing to be more easily tracked and debugged.

then again, comparing my entity names to yours is like comparing skittles to a fancy dinner. after all, I don`t think names like Lightly_Awesome_Vehicle, Ayylien_Grunt_1, or that time I named a air raid siren "WOOOOOOAAAHHHHHHHHH" can compare to the names you put in your maps (I may be wrong here, but I remember your "Ted Cruz tank" had a very obscene name, something like "fuckingbullshit", If I remember correctly)
It's kinda like filling an arcade game's scoreboard up with "ASS" and "FUK" for me :V
