  • Many may have seen the short of this accident over the weekend, but prior to it's unfortunate demise, this large turbine Aermacchi MB-339 was being flown beautifully and put on quite a noon-time demo. If anyone knows the pilots name, or the story of the model, please comment below

    Rule 1 of RC aircraft. All aircraft have a built in expiration date. The trick is to sell it one flight beforehand.

    It is surprisingly difficult to get the scale of trees right in comparison to your model if you have not flown a particular site before. Trees come in LOTS of sizes and it's easy to mistake a small one from a bigger one. Years back I shredded a model through a small tree(or so I thought) at a model show and fly-in. It was a lone tree at the edge of the fence line and I was astonished that I'd hit it! When I went to get the bits I was amazed to find that what I thought was about a 10 foot tree at most was more like 20-25!
    Thankfully only the model was broken, but since then I've never taken trees on field edges for granted and always steered well clear and erred on the side of caution.

    Funny but nobody is talking about the spotter, he was jabbering with another person during a critical part of the flight, why even have a requirement to have one if they aren't doing their job, it's why they are THERE.

      Regarding the front landing gear on the sebart version: would love it if it were more scale (mounted more forward & folding to the rear) but I guess they had good reason to configure it the way it is now.

    That's what happens when you don't pay attention. That's more like a depth-of-field thing or just bad piloting. Did his maneuvers well enough so that's not the problem. I've flown Skymaster jets in the past so there's no excuse outside of something breaking or servo malfunction.

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He's hardly a bad pilot. Just depth perception and a new surrounding caught him. The team this plane belonged to were from Italy I believe. Never got a chance to speak with them while there

    • @IceMan2035
      @IceMan2035 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree it probably was a depth perception problem but that's still in the pilot's control somewhat. Everyone else was in the same boat as far as the field surroundings so no excuse there. Is he allowed to have a spotter on the flight line or just him alone? There's a lot of money in flying turbines so I just hate to see that happen.
