How to unlock Final Escape would most likely be to hit 10 ring notes that appear in Starved’s segment, if you hit any less, then the usual sonic death with play at the end of Prey
I see this similar to how starline trained kit and surge on the IDW comics, they constantly died and repeating tbe same events over and over gave them a chance to change
The alternate timeline: despite not getting the timestones, sonic still took a race he shouldn’t of won. And yet. With one quick look ahead and a quick jump. He had skid to a halt unfortunately bruising up his face and even leaving a couple cuts, but he was alive. Then and only then did he realize he can’t play cocky anymore. And he needs to keep an eye on furnace. He tried to speed off but furnace was fast. So he bid his time till furnace ran outs fuel. After all. Sonic may not be the Smartest guy, but he knew eggman was running furnace off of FUEL. And soon that fuel would run out for both starved and furnace.
No I think furnace ran out of fuel and eggy went for the kill by biting Sonic's head off (because the fire sprite was still on when he crashed) but failed with his air flyer thing hit the floor and created enough drag for it to start sliding across the floor and roll into furnace.
as Robotnik lay dying, the ruins of his once thriving empire crumbling around him, his greatest creation nothing but scrap and his glorious meal speeding off into the horizon, he felt something, an emotion he hadn't felt in God knows how long pure, unyielding hatred hatred for that miserable blue rodent for denying him what was rightfully his and so, with his last breath he uttered "I... hate... that.... hedgehog"
I think it would make better sense if furnace was infront of starved and all of a sudden he runs out of fuel and crashed right into eggman. The heated metal frying his flesh like a frying pan
What I love is that sonic showed fear before he knew he can't give up so he got up and the ending is sonic beating starved and avenging all those who were victems (Also out of all the prey good endings this is the best looking ending.) Sonic on the inside really was afraid of starved possibly just a theory/Headcanon possibly true?

That is....until each time Sonic relives the cycle over and over and over again, he starts to catch on that it is a trap, and by the time he puts two and two together, it's nearly too late. Sure he breaks the cycle, but in turn comes to realize Eggman wasn't ever interested in playing fair. Now, he's bruised and bloody, but is still able to run away. But the shock and fear in that realization, causes Sonic to do the only thing he does best: RUN. However, he is running on adrenaline in an effort to ignore the pain, while Furnace and Starved are beginning to close in. Eggman could've used the time stones to reset time at this point, but he didn't. He most likely didn't do it because it meant he had more time to chase his prey and continued to enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Fortunately for Sonic, his speed and awareness did not fail him. Once "Final Escape" ends, Furnace either powers down due to an empty fuel supply, malfunctions due to the extreme heat, or simply crashes, and falls onto the track. Starved isn't too far behind as his machine fails and rolls backward directly into furnace, with the impact causing Furnace and Starved to burn together in a final karmic retribution. Grabbing the Time Stones, after the shock and fear wanes away to give rise to grief. Sonic takes these objects to travel back to the final battle between them in Sonic 1. This time, in an act of one part mercy and one part cruelty, Sonic puts Eggman Down, ensuring that Eggman died as an ego-driven genius rather than an insatiable monster who left behind a ruined world. In a way Eggman was suffering because he couldn't control his hunger. So....because he refused to come to terms with that fact, and telling it to his past self would be outlandish, it was a mercy to know he would never see that hellish future ever again. Sonic will grieve, but at least he gave him an act of mercy to keep "him" from coming out.

There's something I can't help but find funny as hell about both Furnace and Starved running out of fuel at 7:10 and subsequently crashing like a couple of chumps XD It's very awesome on Sonic's part too with how in MrDankBoi23's take on a combo of Prey and Final Escape, Sonic still ultimately died, even if Starved got his just desserts in the process. But yeah, I like that Sonic survived because he was able to outlast the both of them till they ran out of gas.
He had enough time to get away, that's what happens when your vehicle is gonna explode, you have some time to get away. Plus, Starved, being an Eggman, has the speed of Sonic while running, so Starved had plenty of time to get away with how fast he can run.

He had enough time to get away, that's what happens when your vehicle is gonna explode, you have some time to get away. Plus, Starved, being an Eggman, has the speed of Sonic while running, so Starved had plenty of time to get away with how fast he can run.

Both of the forms you mentioned are tied to the chaos emeralds which causes some problems with that being a possibility
@@VioletNova217 just because they weren't in the game doesn't mean they don't exist in the world. It's still sonic. He can still gather them. Also, Fleetway is caused by stress and anger, not just the emeralds. He can go fleetway without them

Also yeah, Fleetway was started by the radiation and it is caused by stress later on, but going off fleetway standards the six emeralds are enough if sonics around them long enough
