KNK's My VITAMIN It's less about conscious ignorance and more about some people's inherent fear and discomfort when it comes to "the other people." • SEVENTEEN • got me so whipped Junhao people need to realise that your ethnicity doesn’t always represent your nationality. migration has been a thing for centuries! sorry that you go through discrimination. i’m from singapore so i grew up around being other races. i never understood why there seems to be this disdain for people that have a darker skin colour. i’m of chinese descent (part of the majority in singapore too) so i don’t get affected, but it just angers me that i can’t change the way these people think. a leopard never changes its spots...
I'm also mixed, Korean and Pakistani. I had to learn the language myself but I usually get a reaction in Korea like "wuh, how come you speak Korean?" and they are amazed when I say I'm half Korean. Except for this one lady in a jjimjilbang, who was surprised I wasn't Korean so... Iono.

seems like that's how it often happens it's the same with likyia, elly, nesmith and mandy (from the exile tribe) they're also mixed but i guess they never got to talk english much so you can tell from their accent that they were raised in japan. imo once your established in a country you'll speak the language more & more even in your private life and it get's more convenient for all the close familly, and when you have kids you might think it's ok they'll learn english at school but english is so different from asian languages and makes it hard to learn later in life . a little out of it but i'm french but i'm from a region that has a special dialect but since i live in the city every body speaks french as well as my parents who never spoke in dialect with me therefore i never lerned the dialect and now i struggle comunicating with my grandparents

I love koreans in shows like this react like “”” aaaahhh 🤨🤨”””, “”” mmmmhh🤯””” ,””” ohhhh 😐😣”””” hahahaha god i love them
He really looks like Lucas from NCT even the way he talk and voice.
he’s so upbeat about it and is really a great person
Han hyunmin is a visual god
When you look at his face, he actually looks like Korean. He actually looks more Korean that some of Korean Idols
what i’m sad about is how he has to call his mum for them to release him. bruh if he can’t call her for some reason later in life (eg her phone died, she’s sleeping, etc) he would be stuck there :(
The matter happened in the UK airport, not in Korea. He clearly said that they kept him as suspicious because he doesn't speak English. He would talk in Korean with Korean immigration officers. The captions aren't correct.
I love him Aw poor him two hours :( ppl do same shit with me like yes I’m a an African that has a German passport the concept is not that WILD
• SEVENTEEN • got me so whipped Junhao
people need to realise that your ethnicity doesn’t always represent your nationality. migration has been a thing for centuries!
sorry that you go through discrimination. i’m from singapore so i grew up around being other races. i never understood why there seems to be this disdain for people that have a darker skin colour. i’m of chinese descent (part of the majority in singapore too) so i don’t get affected, but it just angers me that i can’t change the way these people think. a leopard never changes its spots...
He's so handsome
Also Vernon next to him is handsome
+~HE LOOKS LIKE NCT'S LUCAS A LIL BIT
Awesome who is he btw I think I seen him before but where?
hello counselor?
Hes everywhere including knowing brothers and lets eat dinner together
lol han hyun min has been on a good amount of variety shows, so
isnt he model???
yes
I like how the way he talks and tells the story
tbh he has the looks of a korean like his eyes
He’s so cute 😭aww I hope after this show he will be treated how he wants to be treated..☹️
Hyun Min kinda reminds me of SHINee's Minho
Bunny1412 i can see it !
This reminded me of "Kim Toni" from Itaewon class
If I found a person like him, I'll be shocked of course. But, I'll definitely ask further to know about his family.. Hehe..
How did I not notice Vernon at all for the first time😂😂
Is it just me or he really reminds me of lucas? Like his facial expressions? Also hes so cute and this so sad :(
I'm also mixed, Korean and Pakistani. I had to learn the language myself but I usually get a reaction in Korea like "wuh, how come you speak Korean?" and they are amazed when I say I'm half Korean. Except for this one lady in a jjimjilbang, who was surprised I wasn't Korean so... Iono.
He looks like NCT Lucas
Ah man you even don’t know how much I look up to him I’m African American and I’m 15 learning korean this dude TAKES all STEREOTYPES AND JUST THROWS THEM OUT OF THE WINDOW AND INTO A DIRTY LAKE WHERE THEY BELONG this man is really my role model
awww he is adorable :3 must have been hard growing up tho
It's really sad he has to go through this. He mist have gone through a lot to be where he is now. I wish that people learn about the difference between nationality and ethnicity
Poor guy!! But he seriously need to learn English!! Can’t believe his Nigerian dad was not able to teach him any of the Nigerian languages or at least English!! How does he communicate with his dad’s side of the family?🤔
his mother/sister/brother translated it for him
Ikr? I'm Nigerian American and I'm surprised that his dad hasn't taught him ANYTHING.
Girl I got 2 Nigerian parents and I can only speak English 🙈
seems like that's how it often happens it's the same with likyia, elly, nesmith and mandy (from the exile tribe)
they're also mixed but i guess they never got to talk english much so you can tell from their accent that they were raised in japan.
imo once your established in a country you'll speak the language more & more even in your private life and it get's more convenient for all the close familly, and when you have kids you might think it's ok they'll learn english at school but english is so different from asian languages and makes it hard to learn later in life .
a little out of it but
i'm french but i'm from a region that has a special dialect but since i live in the city every body speaks french as well as my parents who never spoke in dialect with me therefore i never lerned the dialect and now i struggle comunicating with my grandparents
He is currently learning English, you can watch it on "My English Puberty" show
OMG I'm so in love with him ❤️🇧🇷 He's so handsome
I don’t care where he’s from, he can pass straight through my border control - that man is FINE
LMAOO
😂🥺
hes such a lovely kid :"( poor baby had to go thru all of that..
Yall need to change the title. He wouldn't lie about being Korean 🙄
uuuh i love him:(( and vernon's reactions r so cute im crying what a precious baby boy
i can see the korean in him, maybe it’s just cause i’m mixed as well, in a similar way. i also don’t look asian, i look 90% white...
a lot of people try and deny my identity, like i was never cambodian. whenever i talk about asia they look at me like i’m some weeaboo, like especially when i’m talkingg about my own country!!! like damn i lived in that place for 7 years too yknow!!!
louisa Never try to Change ignorant ppl its like Cancer like everything its something like Dead period
I can relate so much to this.. I’m Chinese and Hispanic and people always try to deny that I am Asian..
I relate to this so much, haha. I think mixed people can just easily identify other mixed people. I'm also half Korean and Black but people either think I'm 100% Asian, Pacific Islander, or half white lol
Me too, I’m a mixed guy. I can clearly see the korean genes.
if you look at him he looks korean, he looks really similar to nct's lucas (though he isn't korean) but feature wise he looks korean it's just his skin and hair texture.
he reminds me of Lucas from NCT for some reason
Yea his shoulders r wide like him and I can see it in his facial features.
I LOVE HIM AND VERNON AW
Just me who thinks he has a striking resemblance to Lucas from NCT?
This boi is just super cute and handsome.
I apologize as a Korean. Some Koreans especially old people can be very judgemental and stereotypical.
Grylls Bear just to be Old is no excuse
Sahra Qa that is very true
This happened in EnGland!!! God!! Get the English to apologize to Hyunmin.
The young ones are just as problematic
Suhocidal yeah but they're not as bad as the old
That sounds unbelievably frustrating
poor baby hyunmin, when people doesnt believe you, then just say you are from wakanda.
thedancing petal wakanda Korean is that?
Haha yes that what we should call it
He's just 19 years old rn? woooaaahhh he's so professional
Vernonnn
Rip at the treatment!
Also omg Vernon so handsome I can’t focus on the video well
Yall are blaming Korea when the hostage took place in London LMAO. He was unable to communicate with the racially judging UK passport control cause he doesn't speak english. A korean officer would never detain him as he can talk his way out.
Nonetheless if you've been to Korea you'd know that law enforcement ain't even mean, they always try to help you.
the case for hyun min, is that he clearly has korean facial features/structures
Nigeria 🇳🇬
Ok but can I just say...he is freaking gorgeous
It would be England to do this smh they always doing this kind of stuff at immigration 😒
Alex Knight sometimes I’m ashamed to be from there🙃
@Unfazed Jae tell me about it
Same 😩
Yes..one of my friend was a prosecutor, and she said that she was a prosecutor. The immigration held her for a while, looking at her like a mad women. Happened in England.
He didn't explain it completely correctly in here he meant to say he was stopped in Seoul on the way back home from England.(he talked about it in another interview)
I want Hyun min and Lucas from WayV to be on a show together
ok he was in england and i didnt know? tf is this
I can't stop thinking about how he looks like Lucas
Hyun min and Vernon this is a visual battle
Korean Canadian here.. And yes, people expect me to be fluent in English, and because of that, I am. Now I can speak 3 languages. 😊😊
He's Amazing he's Handsome
Omg I was thinking about him today and the youtube recommended me this
He's beautiful 😭💜 I wish the world was less ignorant in their thoughts, but unfortunately that's the world we live in. Like Art, beauty is very subjective. Beauty is definitely in the eyes of the beholder. So yea, he's beautiful in my eyes.
This is only really a thing in the East.
Just a little misunderstanding and people act like this is a big deal. I wish people spend time on things like world hunger, war, climate change, etc.
are u giving to all those charities?
yourguardianangel Yes, and?
I fucking love his vibe and his personality! And he is beautiful!🙏🏿🥺❤️
He's adorable.
Friend: why are you laughing?
Me: Nothing
My mind: He's a Kogga.
i was born in Korea too and as a mixed person i have the same problem but my parents are not from Korea i’m literally the only person who can speak Korean in my family- as a military family we move a lot and when i moved to Chicago kids didn’t believe i was born and raised in Korea even after i spoke Korean😂
Just let him live. It's sad that some ppl just can accept ones identity bc of the color of his or her skin. I'm glad he opens up about this. It's not easy but i am still rooting for him and people of color. Okay bye.
He’s just saying that people are shocked when he tells them he’s Korean. I’m sure you’ve seen a person you thought was one race or ethnicity, but turns out they’re a different race or ethnicity than you expected. They’re just confused because he doesn’t look like most Koreans. That’s all.
The way he speaks and tell stories reminds me of Lucas, they really do have resemblance
Now that I've seen this video, I can't even imagine how he and his family were treated
Hyunmin is so handsome omg 🤭😔
