I want one of those statues ! So invigorating to hear this story written at last. I'm a Virginia girl, but I grew up as a teen in D.C.. You have to keep searching to find all these wonderful treasures left behind and beyond the school day field trips. A huge Thank you so much to Kirk, Mr. Foster, and all the behind scenes working folks making all this happen. Truth! All4HisGlory Praise4Him IRaiseAHalelujah ❤️
Thank you for doing this video. I tell people about it on my facebook. I never learned this in school. Thank you Kirk for all you do to get the message to people everywhere. God Bless
I experienced the movie tonight. AMAZING! Life changing! The blueprint to America right down the street from my house hiding in plain sight! I can't wait to go there.
This monument applies to all people, religious or not, and no matter religion, race, creed etc. The principles on this monument are not only the Blueprint for our nation, but for the rest of the world. If we all lived by these principles we could not only restore freedom and liberty, we could save our world from the destruction it is facing.
Very disturbing that our education system has either ignorantly or purposefully hidden this gem. Looking into ways to be able to afford to get there and visit this beautiful treasure as a field trip.
Thank you fir this documentation! Please start a fund to take care of this monument by creating sellable statues! Me and my company will landscape an area around the statue!
Did you ever hear of the Victory Monument at Yorktown? How about the Cape Henry Cross Memorial? I never heard of this monument either, but then again I am not a native of MA.
@SuperGoldnut, perhaps it wasn't relevant to the purpose of the class field trip. I went on field trips as a kid to Jamestown and Yorktown, but we did't go see the statue of John Smith or the Victory Monument at Yorktown Battlefield. Does that mean we were being indoctrinated?
I saw the movie, Monumental on 3/27. It was Awesome. All true Americans need to see this movie. I saw this monument in Plymouth from far off but next time I go I will definetely drive up and take a closer look. God bless America.
THANK YOU!!! I’ve been looking for presentation with Spanish subtitles to share with our Latin-American friends taking the Biblical Citizenship classes by Patriot Academy/Rick Green. Awesome! Luv Kirk Cameron for doing all this!
I loved in MASSACHUSETTS and have been to Plymouth, MA, seen the Mayflower, Plymouth Rock, went to the Plymouth Plantation to see how the Pilgrams lived and worked every day. But no one ever told us about this amazing statue.
The Christian grows in grace and gets to know the Lord through His grace. The more you live in Christ, the more you experience His grace. He puts His law in our hearts. Praise God, what a wonderful Saviour we have. YT would not let me mention this subject- will get blocked, why???
I'm 14 and home schooled girl, when I went to the government school, well I went to private Christian school, I never learned any of this! This is very cool! I'm in complete agreement with Kirk Cameron, there is seriously something sick in this country and we are loosing our freedom! I will do what I can to gain back our freedom
I am 59. Today is the first day I've heard of the "Forefathers' Monument." Morality, Law, Education, Liberty.....Interconnected in that era, the era when the statue was errected. Hard to believe that in 1890 the president came to the dedication of this monument- but I've never even seen a photo of it in my entire life. Hearing that the Statue of Liberty may have been modeled upon the lady atop of the "Forefathers' Monument," I feel that's a piece of the story that was never related to me.
The National Monument to the Forefathers, formerly known as the Pilgrim Monument, commemorates the Mayflower Pilgrims. Dedicated on August 1, 1889, it honors their ideals as later generally embraced by the United States.
@RusSEAL I simply cannot deny the fact that our country had less than noble beginnings. One can't tout that this country gave "freedom" when we've been behind in civil rights than many other countries. I love this country, and I think we can do better.
I'm over 50 - never hear of it either. Never was told about a lot of other stuff in public school -the sort of things that would have fundamentally altered the narrative I was given - because I was given only the set of facts that fit that narrative. I wish I could sue the public system for breach of contract, possibly malpractice. It deserves nothing less.
I'm 51 and I have a 14 yo son in HS that has not had a US History class yet. I have been teaching him US History with books and movies. I've never heard of this monument in my 12 years of indoctrination. It's no wonder we have home-schooled kids beating all the public schooled kids in testing.
One of my history teacher told us things that are not in our history books but nothing like this...I bet she never knew about this...sometimes I think some of that stuff in our history books are lies...
Lots of folks here berating the educational system because they were not taught of the existence of this monument. Not trying to defend the current state of education, but could the reason be that it really isn't that important? Also: The Statue of Liberty, designed by Frédéric Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886. The National Monument to the Forefathers. Dedicated on August 1, 1889. How is it that the inspiration came later than the derivative work?
@caedmon410 Dear.. There were once slaves in the North and South of this country. It was once legal everywhere. I AM Native American. We conquered this land, but it doesn't give us the right to enslave the people. We should live in harmony with the Natives.
Too bad man is a sinner of every color. Thank God for Jesus Christ & his gift of the U.S. & the Hope of a New Way. Thanks for the Constitutional Republic He gave us that unlike any other was based on the Judeo- Christian Word of God- the Bible. If you don't think so, Go where you think it's better and STOP being a victim. Thanks Kirk for the info.
I think we should have a FUND RAISER to renovate the MONUMENT. I'm in if you want to start a re-building organization. It hurts my heart to see the deterioration of such a FANTASTIC SCULPTURE. How would you feel if the IWO JIMA Monument in D.C. was in this shape. Write me what can be done... GOD bless AMERICA !!
The monument was conceived in 1820 according to the narrative, and finally, almost completed, in 1889. That the Freemasons were involved is the connection...
One needs to look up the members of the Pilgrim Society who helped pay and establish this monument in 1859 Cornerstone (which includes a plaque with name and tiltle of the grand master of the lodge of freemasons) ceremony for the monument was celebrated by Masons- Grand master of Mass. giving a speech Book written 1906- this Plymoth Memories of an Octogenarian by William T David Statue of Liberty is a goddess also designed by Freemasons The Mayflower Com. has nothing at all to do with Masons
@BlueFireWitch- I trace my heritage to an Irish slave and to a Shawnee "Squaw" of the late 1800s & know the stories of oppression- I appreciate your "Homework Degree" it lets me know you will be "easily schooled". Slaves didn't arrive until after 1629- and IRISH outnumber any other race/culture by about 1/2- the Mayflower shows no record of Africans having traveled with the original Separatists. "Colonists" yes- Forefathers? NO- their temperance forbade them.
@RusSEAL I don't hate America. I consider myself a patriot. You can think whatever you want, but we both know the truth. My point for my original comment was that the video claims that this country was founded on liberty. My assertion was that it was only for specific individuals (old rich white men). So it's not really fair to assert that the US is any more free than other countries. Those who claim we are the liberators forget things like the Dawes act, Manifest Destiny, etc.
I went to public school in the 60's, can't say I got a real history of the pilgrims, the founding, the constitution, or the First Amendment... I got an early version of the pc narrative. My district was fed by the local college - we were probably cutting edge regarding educational theory and practice, in other words, the public schools were active indoctrination centers. Today, I think that is what public education has become, generally.
@BlueFireWitch- no worries; I try not to go for the "gotcha" politics of the Body Politique: If there be any solace in our discourse- know that I'm an "Equal Opportunity Hater" when it comes to ANYTHING with "Politician" in its title. In my [myopic? perhaps...] view; Washington was meant to be "extra curricular" to our country's needs- not a full time job.
@RusSEAL once again, you keep inserting irrelevant information into the conversation. It's a Red Herring. My point still stands. Slavery and Oppression of Native Americans was used by settlers. I said nothing about colonists, but settlers. So when the area of Virginia was colonized matters not.
@winston2015 The Salem Witch Trials happened from June 1692 to Oct 1692. 21 people were tragically killed. It was ended and condemned by Christians. How many Innocent children have been killed by abortions? You can thank Christians for trying to save those children.
Kirk Cameron used a song in one of his embarrassing films called "The Time is Now" . It's been hijacked by the Atheist community as a rallying song. Thanks Kirk! ATHEISM IS UNSTOPPABLE
News Flash: It's already been stopped for all eternity when Jesus gave His life to save all of us. For a shot time, the evil one and his supporters are enjoying their delusion, but soon every knee shall bow--whether they believe or not. Wait for it...
@BlueFireWitch Spoken like a well-heeled Keynsian Progressive. Eyes wide shut. "Young & NOT Progressive means you have no heart- but older & Not Conservative, means you have no brain." Winston Churchill We've hit an impasse that does neither of us any good tidings, BFW- therefore, I bid you good morrow & many appreciable thanks for a lively debate- may you find what justice you believe this world deserves & much reward in your every pursuit.
@BlueFireWitch - I suppose I'm what many would call a Conservative Libertarian- I own what Progressives call an "Arsenal" I also stand against illegal immigration- and I find "honesty" a cop-out.
so then what is the fruit that the united states has brought forth ? that is what is being said here, right ? that the usa at its inception was a christian thing, a good thing, and we should return to it, would you agree that is the message from the monumental film ?
The message is that the core principles have been turned away from. A new narrative is being pushed, which I don't have any other name for than "secular humanism". The rooting and grounding of our nation in a Faith in God is what's being destroyed. The neglect of this monument (I never heard of it either) is telling.
The Pilgrims coming should be celebrated because of religious freedom. But the "pilgrim society" is not what it sounds like it should be. These people take on the good things in life, and turn and twist the truth into a lie.
06-11-19 I wonder when 'The Powers That Be' will decide it's time to tear THIS statue down? After all, they can't have Americans worshipping anything but the State...and by extension, themselves...
@caedmon410 There was slavery in the North and South during the time of the colonies. Anyone in the US is living on land that was Native, but then, I am part Native. So I guess I still belong here. How about you?
@BlueFireWitch- "irrelevant information"... No- those are called facts- irrefutable, sourced and within context. 1- your 1st comment to me refers specifically to "colonists"- I give you data: 2- you specifically reference "slaves... a decade earlier in Virginia"- I give you relevancy & you shun it in order to stalwart my own relevancy... *sigh* Knowing everything, this world must be so boring for you,.. I relent- but for truth, I'll never yield.
@RusSEAL Actually, the first African slaves were acquired about a decade earlier in Virginia. But, seriously, that doesn't take away from my point that the settlers had and used slaves. So, no, you're not "schooling" me, just trying to weasel your way out of the FACT that I'm right. The timeline of slavery is irrelevant here. Settlers had slaves; freedom and prosperity came on the backs of slaves and Natives who were cheated/conquered End of story.
@RusSEAL Settlers most certainly did have slaves. The early records of towns in the colonies had slaves, that's a fact. (I have done my homework in the form of a degree, so yeah, my Mom is really proud.) The peace with the Natives was extremely brief. It's also been proven that the early colonists thought that the Natives were savages and sought to cheat them and steal their land early on. I suppose now I am a snob because I went to college. LOL
@BlueFireWitch And it is this lack of nobility that we part ways. Individuals made this country- some of them were hideous people, granted. But a great many more were kind & just. European social engineering may have produced more "Progress" in your civil rights POV but it is also the birthplace of Communism, Fascism and Totalitarianism- all Progressive attributes that immigrants to this day seek to escape. My apologies that I simply will not yield to Euro-ideology as a mold for this country.
In the course of your studies, did you ever come across the ancient historian Josephus, who was not a Christ follower? If not, I'll tell you he recorded the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Since that is the single-most incredible event in history and was recorded by an unbiased historian, there's evidence for you. If that could be done, there is no reason to not believe the other events. If that doesn't prove it to you, don't believe, but for me, it's proof enough. Good luck.
A historical monument, put up to honor the people whose history you apparently are unknowing of (substitution for the word "ignorant" which is more concise) and it is an "interpretation" of history? Sorry, bub, history doesn't get purer than that monument. What has been "interpreted" is your view of history, also called revisionism, also called untruth, more properly termed a lie. You might get down off your high horse and realize what's real and what's interpreted.

The Monument was posed in 1794, Washington's Presidential term: April 30, 1789 - March 4, 1797.

Right, exactly my point. We are not a country built on liberty and justice for all.
I'm 51 and I have a 14 yo son in HS that has not had a US History class yet. I have been teaching him US History with books and movies. I've never heard of this monument in my 12 years of indoctrination.

@RusSEAL You're absolutely right about ideologues tempering information to their own ends. Kirk Cameron and friends are masters of it.
Thank you for this.
One of my history teacher told us things that are not in our history books but nothing like this...I bet she never knew about this...sometimes I think some of that stuff in our history books are lies...
@RusSEAL I'm a moderate. I own a gun and I'm anti-immigration. I'm simply honest about the way this country began.

Just went there yesterday, the monument is in fantastic condition.
How could the Statue of Liberty (dedicated 1886) be based on Monument to the Forefathers (built 1889)?
The monument was conceived in 1820 according to the narrative, and finally, almost completed, in 1889. That the Freemasons were involved is the connection...
Oh that we put on the whole armor of GOD, that we might withstand the wiles of the devil.

I am 65 and I have never heard of this monument ... Our History Education stinks.... they are rewriting our history as we live... this is not good.
They want to confuse us to think it was for the forefathers but it was made by the pilgrims and paid for by the pilgrim Society not congress.
@RusSEAL I love this country so much that I am willing to be honest about it.
@BlueFireWitch- no worries; I try not to go for the "gotcha" politics of the Body Politique:

What part of this doesn't point to actual history of our country?
