Arches (140lb, 300gsm cold press) my favorite but need good cotton paper to practice or draw first. Tyvm or if not any suggestions.

Hi all a little tip and something I noticed that Mathew didn't do is, ALWAYS have a clean water and a wash water cup. you will never get crisp clear colours using muddy muddy water. if you start this at the beginning of learning it will become a habit and it will make your paintings so much nicer 😊

That intro where the image appears in the water ur painting with. Im really old but youused to be able to buy books that did that, paint over with just water and coloured images would appear on the page. no idea what they were called or if they are still made. #ramble

this was way to hard mine came out like a big blob and i tried 10 times and i wasted a whole lot of paper THANKS ALOT!!!!!
calm down and relax just wait it takes time to paint :)
1) "A lot" is two words, not one.
2) Painting is a relatively long process, so calm your head.
3) If you messed up so bad, you probably should cut the paper into small pieces.

And if she wants to paint on bigger paper?
Shes probably doing something wrong, but i doubt the size of the paper is the issue.
I've been watching these clips and attempting to watercolour paint for over a year and all II keep getting as a result is soaking wet pigments floating on corrugated paper similar to a 4 year old's masterpiece? How long till I get something right?
mbtemlett I tried soaking the paper in cold water and drying it lightly and sticking it on my wooden plank and it doesnt buckle!

Your intro is WAY to long , like not just a little to long.... WAY WAY to long! You are fab so you would prob have much more subs and views if the intro didn't cause people to click out before the video gets into the subject...
I usually have a hard time watching tutorials bc the presenter annoys me. This guy is so damn charming and adorable, I just might learn something.

I’m very disappointed. I bought his book and then in the book you notice that he refers to his own brand of watercolors. If you are like me, you feel you have to purchase that for about 40pounds. Come on Mathew.
