  • This would happen the first time I ride my brand new loaner bike! ‪@harleydavidson‬ sent me this brand new, 2021 Street Glide motorcycle to ride around on for a few weeks. (It's a loaner bike, I don't get to keep it!) You know how much I LOVE The Harley-Davidson Road Glide, well this is my very first time experiencing a Street Glide! The differences are small but VERY noticeable between the two motorcycles.
My experience and opinions on this bike are purely my own. Harley-Davidson is not paying or asking me to say anything about my loaned motorcycles. They simply offered to loan me a couple bikes simply to experience them!
I can't wait to crush some miles on this motorcycle! Which one do you prefer? Street Glide or Road glide? Comment below!
P.S. As for the audio issues on the GoPro... I am using the Hero7 black with a mic adapter. The mic adapter has to plug into the side of the camera negating it's waterproof door. I COULD waterproof the adaption point with wax or putty, but I would have to completely dissemble the whole thing to get to the memory card afterwards. For this quick video, I was unaware of the chance for rain. Leaving me to deal with the consequences lol.

I bought a 2018 Street Glide Special a few months ago. I’m 5’4” and it fits me well. Previously rode a Heritage Springer and often toll my husband’s road glide on long trips. To me the RG is just smoother at high speeds and I like the look better. The SG won me over because it handled like I was still on my Springer. I had the shorter windshield initially & it would be fine for around town. I put on a taller Memphis Shade and it made a huge difference. Overall, I love my Fancy!

I own both a Road King standard and a Road Glide special. If I had to sell one the Road Glide would be the one I sold. There honestly is not much difference in wind protection and the Road King is a much more playful bike on the back roads. Running it through s turns and just turns in general just so much more fun! The Road Glide is fun if I want to go long day's on a two week trip but you really feel the extra weight in day to day short trip use. Just my opinion.

@@rodzimmerman1979 I repect that opinion. I dont own both but love the ride feel of the road king, does feel like all the wieght is nice and low. Fells more agile, that I get. But The Wife and I will go out and lay down 300 400 500 miles day trips on a pretty regular basis, I like my tunes and the wind shooting over my head, Also like passing an oncomming truck on a 2 lane and not feeling it. Sticking with my RGS.

Love my Road King. Such an amazing bike. Has the ability to quick detach the windshield, has that classic look that will never go out of style. Love Street Glides and Road Glides, but as you already know, here in Ohio you can throw a rock in the air about anywhere and hit one. I personally wanted something different from everyone else! But, to each their own, just matters that you ride something!

I rode both Road Glide & Street Glide. Had the dealership put 14" windscreen on the Street Glide. Still got buffeting like crazy. The Road Glide was much much much much better of a ride for me personally. I knew it within the first couple miles. I am tall at 6'4, the street glide, I felt to compacted. 2021 RGS sits in my garage now. Just picked it up Saturday with 6mi on it. Could Not be happier.

About the buffeting…I found by personal experience that air come up about mid tank on the right side and it hits your chin area causing the buffet. I bought some air deflectors that mount on the forks just below the fairing. That is what fixed the buffeting for me. I did try the taller windscreen and it helped but the defectors were the fix.
I really enjoy your channel and the content you put out. Keep up the great work!

I've ridden the Road King, Road Glide, and Street Glide. IMO I think the Road Glide is the best handling of the 3. It is so well balanced for it's size and once I saw the RG Custom that I have now I fell in love with this bike. Lots of storage. It is a 2011 model I got this past Feb. No fancy Nav/Infotainment system, but bought an adapter to BT my music. I like all 3, but the Road Glide is the one I would choose for handling purposes. Enjoy the vids! Hopefully I'll get to take it camping sometime soon!

Klock werks flared windshield helps a lot. The layout of the dash, screen, and gps is the biggest difference between the glides other than the fairing. Mean city cycles can shave the seat to where you can flat foot it easily. Helpful with either bike. Love my street glide.

I have a 2020 Road King Special, and for me it is the most versatile bike. Add the windshield and soft lowers for colder weather or rain, or remove those for hot weather riding. As far as the buffeting, that is caused by the wind coming up over the tank. I just added the fork wind deflectors, also known as fork fangs. They have completely eliminated the buffeting. If you buy a Street Glide, they will fit that bike as well.

I have a tip for you about finding neutral. On both my softail slim and my RGS, neutral is easier to find after you hit the kill switch. Try it and let me know if it works for you too or if it’s all in my head.

Love the red, but I still think I'd rather have the road glide. Like you though, if Harley is in a giving mood I'd take either!

Bike suits you, but from your other videos we can tell yòu love the Road Glide, they do handle better, lighter, less wind buff, and a bit more storage on the fairing. Infotainment is awesome. I ride a Street Glide and thinking of going back to the Road Glide. Also a 10 " windsplitter windshield would be a nice upgrade from stock

@her two wheels - there’s a trick to finding neutral on those harleys. Impossible if not moving. You need to get neutral while slightly moving forward!

A recurve windshield and an air dam on the back side of the forks would help the buffeting.

Love my road king. Shadetree’s review actually sealed the deal. I also wouldn’t use the nav and radio either so no point to have it or the extra weight. Also two friends of mine have baggers with the nav and it sucks. Have the time the map doesn’t bring it up and we use our phones.

I put a 10 inch Klockwerks windshield on my 21 Street Glide Special and it prevents any buffeting. Probably could go shorter and have the same effect. The Saddlemen seat is perfect on it also.

It’s all personal preference. I’ve rode all 3 and the road glide just fits me better. I’ve took all 3 on really curvy back roads and I still love my road glide the best.

Easy Harley neutral: Clutch in, quick rev brrrp while putting up pressure on shift knob. When clutch matches engine speed, gear will pop right out.
Same reason you give the throttle a blip when down shifting.

Road King Special was my choice. You can have it with or without wind shield. I have a Ciro 3D charger for cell phone. That handles navigation needs. In my humble opinion handles the best. Wouldn't miss the dyna feel so much. Be blessed

Just putting my 2 cents in. I'm partial to the Road glide, but the bottom line is what fits you. Since you've ridden all 3 now, which did you like the best. What we say, really doesn't matter. Love your channel... keep up the good work.

I would do a street glide. Better protection from the elements on it over the road glide, easier to see the gauges with a glance down, and nav is in better position IMO. Also, windshield and lower block on back side of the forks (between the tank and forks) helps a ton on wind issues.
