    Thank you Sir for sharing your trip with us. Sipsey is a beautiful place. BTW - Can you tell us how long the trail is into those campsites. Thanks again.

      Hey Bill- thank you very much! Yes, Sipsey is beautiful. I don't have the exact distance, but it's somewhere around 30 minutes hike time.

      Thanks so much, Todd! Hiking isn't my forte, but a quick overnight with an easy in-and-out was a lot of fun!! Lots of camp spots on the few trails that I've been on in Bankhead! I think you will really enjoy it!!

    Man that was nice seeing you hiking man. I am glad everything worked out OK. & having good weather helps a lot. I have not hike in years. It was a lil bit Difficult for me to hide because I had to hike in flip flops 🩴 & since I was involved in that truck Accident & both of my feet 🦶 was broken I have not been hiking. I got me some hiking sandals that fits my feet 🦶 really really good on my feet 🦶. They are comfortable to wear & I need to test them out on the Trails. I still have not found any hiking footwear that wide enough to fit my foot beside the sandals. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing it.

    I made that hike back in October. I’m wanting to go and camp there this fall.

      Awesome!! It's such a beautiful place. I'll be back sometime this fall/winter.

    Just watch this video, and so proud I did. I have been planning on going to the sipsey this weekend.

      That's awesome, Billy! There are campsites all along the trails that I've been on (but I've not been on near all of them) if you're wanting to camp. Either way, have fun and be safe and let me know how your trip goes!

    The weather has been perfect. I’m about to get back out. Sipsey is my happy place. 🦑

      Yes it has, Squidly! We're squeezing in a trip tomorrow night and will likely see our first freezing temps at night this fall!

    Nice. I was afraid you were gonna get eat up by the skeeters with a bug net, but looks like you faired ok. I want to get to sipsey bad.

      Yes, and I forgot my bug spray. Fortunately there were only a couple that I had to swat away. It was a great trip. We're going back tomorrow evening, but it will be much cooler this time!!

    Nice one Dan! I've been thinking about trying some little trips like this since paddling season is about over up my way. I bet you can about paddle year round down south can't ya?

    • @SouthernPaddler
      @SouthernPaddler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Wes- yes, we basically can paddle year round. Some smaller rivers almost dry up in the late summer & fall, but there's always lakes and dam-controlled rivers available. But it is a great time to get out in the woods, too!!

    Looks very peaceful. One day I may consider letting Jay take me on a “real” camping trip 😊 Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks, Lashonda! It's definitely different carrying your gear...lol! But it's great being in the middle of the woods. What an experience!! 🙂

    Love your camping trips! I’d like to see you camp at Sougahoagdee Falls. Have you been there?

      Thanks so much, Glenna! I have been there once on a day hike. I think it was back in 2020. That is a beautiful area!!

    Wanting to start backpacking. Can you set up a camp anywhere on the trail or is there designated areas? Enjoyed your video.

    • @SouthernPaddler
      @SouthernPaddler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much!! I *think* you can setup anywhere, but if you're not in a spot with an existing fire ring (normally just made of rocks) just try to naturalize the site when you leave. But there are many fire rings/camp spots along the trails that I've been on. I've camped there 3 times and each was a "common camp spot" (and passed many more). Let me know how your first trip goes!!
