    Makes you appreciate masks so much more when you see actually how much hard work goes into those things. I remember when Spencer's opened up in the mall and we all wanted those masks but they were a $100 plus even in the early eighties but man they were so cool In highly detailed. We attempted to make our own with tinfoil, melted crayons, chicken wire, and paper mache. I never worked out to look exactly like the ones we saw in the big stores but they turned out to be ugly and that's all that counts haha ha!!😊

    Just ran into this.. Loving it as this is in the same town I live in.. And the same shop that I buy from. Mitch seems to know just about every kind of moldmaking there is..

    Pretty complicated but very cool. That's gonna be a nice thick sculpting form.

    dumb question can i buy a sculping form or even a solid head bust, trying to use a foam head to plan out some of my head gear is a pain in the ass

    • @Sillyzombie666
      @Sillyzombie666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CobwebsandCandlesticks I don't work with clay or any of that I'm not that skilled I like modifying existing headgear and need a full head. The current masks I'm working on is a paintball mask that I have modified with lights rusting some aging to it. The other mask I'm working on currently is a Mickey Mouse pillow that I've turned into a creepy Mickey mask and I need something to set it up on while I'm distressing it

      I bet a nice hard plastic mannequin head would work for you. A beauty supply store might have one or I bet Amazon has a ton of plastic display heads to could work off of.

    What is the benefit of this over a brush on mold ? Especially when the cost would be a 10th .

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I sell sculpting headforms, a lot of them, as the different mold parts wear out I can remake one part of it. A brush on mold would still need a jacket mold, and the matrix mold process allows me to control the thickness of the mold which is much harder to do with brush on.

    I find what you do fascinating but the practical mathematical person who doesn’t have an ounce of creativity doesn’t get all the steps. I understand the first couple steps and then after that my brain was out to lunch but I guess that’s why we’re all different, makes the world more fascinating. 👍🏻👍🏻👹

      the video is also here forever, so you could just watch any steps over again if you miss one, but I get it. not every video is for everyone either.

    vasaline breaks down silicone over time, use a diffenrt release material

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is not true. Vaseline breaks down latex. You can actually add up to 20% Vaseline to your silicone mix to make it self releasing. By the time any agent int he Vaseline breaks down the silicone, the mold will have died from use. Since your'e only going to get 40 pulls out of it anyway.

    I have a very serious business to attend to, a lot of important people waiting patiently, billions, nay, *TRILLIONS* of dollars on the line, countries may fall, dictators shall rise, but instead of wrangling the megalomaniacal hillbillies at the next world economic forum, or managing the personal medication schedules of the Sackler family, I'm just gonna marathon your entire body of work. K thx, you're all fantastic and lovely! k byeeeeeeeeeee!
