Very good bream. I myself have caught a 47 cm near that spot on a lemabs stretch 5 in the fortescue colour, that's pink. And the fight was pretty much the same, it was just pulling drag. And i pulled it up the similar 3 steps down the wall.well done again. Brought back some memories.
I appreciate it Moonman. It definitely made up for that and then some. I never thought I'd get a yellowfin bream that size in Sydney ever so that's beat all my expectations.
Yeah, big bite equals big fish not the case. I mean sometimes like us, we just have a nibble, right. Got my big Bream down at Spit Bridge a couple years ago. It went 42cm, but it stretched out all my mono line with the power of its runs, the line afterwards was like a big stretchy elastic band. A bit archaic was I back then. I’ll always remember that Bream, it was so fit and strong. In the keeper net it just kept swimming bashing into the net so hard, it was an humungasour. A Bream amongst Bream! Ha!
Justin that's an amazing memory. The humble bream can just make you gasp in awe sometimes and it's hard to explain but if you've ever experienced it you just know when someone talks about their own capture what feelings they went through. I kept saying it, they grow as tall as they grow long. They are so tall at that size haha
Thanks W C! I'm stoked over it. Some days I can't even get a small bream haha. Between those two colours, they cover most situations so hold onto those 🍉 reds. Can't beat them 😀
Hi Shroom top catch the big girls go hard aye I use the same set up my main line is lighter anyway, that's great spot iv fished there many times before I hope you hookup the 50cm models that hang around there as well ,ps its squirt worm breeding season atm you matched the hatch with your plastic but red is better in UV but close enough the results says it all congrats ...
Thank you George Fisher. It did go hard and slug it out for ages for a bream. I've not caught one that size till then so was second guessing myself shortly after hook up whether it was still a bream on the end of the line. Maybe one day I can get a 50 cm which is no doubt gonna take some finding and catching haha. That's awesome that they are there. Always thought I needed to get in front of the fish markets or Darling Harbour for that haha. No wonder why Watermelon red is doing just as well right now. Thanks again.
