is there any calculation? or it is only an assumption? The wall Girts are fixed to the outer flange with some 12mm dia. fasteners, how the girts will restrain the buckling?
Sir, your help to me is beyond measure. Highly appreciated. I have a question though, if diaphragm is make the structure act as one under lateral loads, why do we define and assign diaphragm in concrete slabs? Aren't slabs already tying the vertical members into one? Kindly help me understand this concept of diaphragm. Thanks
thanks a lot ..for the rafter if i use just a purlin with sheating but without bracing what do you think the buckling of the rafter is it will effect too much compare with if we put bracing ....regards ..also please how can I design it by sap using diphram in steel structural
Good and easy explanation for getting the concept clear about diaphragm So my question is practically all PEB/Steel sheds with wall and roof sheeting are designed considering this diaphragm action. Also this action will effect the thickness of the cold formed Z/C purlins or not

I will put a video on it 🙏
Thank you ,
In Staad pro , can we provide the Diaphragm in skeleton as plates ?
Sure

Purlin is a local member, it only contributes to diaphragm action. So, don't be confused.
What's the difference between a brace and a diaphragm?
I will try to explain it through my video
@@TonmoyMaity let me now when it is out
