The benefit of making functional prototypes is that you discover problems and challenges to your concept. And if you solve those issues, then those solutions can be part of your IP or trade secrets. And if you can’t solve those problems, then that’s info needed to decide if you want to go any further on the project
Thank you for confirming that inventors do not need prototypes and PPA's to get licensing agreements Stephen. I have a unique new design for a whole range of kitchen products. Unfortunately, my graphics designer suddenly dropped me in the lurch and so can't create all my sell sheets anymore. I sent one sell sheet to someone you know, and he replied that it's a waste of time for him to even consider my new kitchen designs as I don't have the prototypes!
It’s OK for people to have a difference of opinion. You should ask that person if he’s ever invented or patented anything? Most people that say that are looking out for their own best interests. And that’s usually the big companies not the independent inventor.
@@stephenkey3137 You're correct of course Stephen. From what Ive seen, he is not an inventor himself, but claims to help inventors, and works for a large company. I noticed on LinkedIn that you know each other, and in one of your videos you briefly spoke to him at a toy fair, lol. He was quite interested initially, but upon a follow up email I sent him, he said if I don't have a PPA and prototype, basically, I'm wasting his time.
Also the company he works for very rarely ever licenses ideas from inventors. Not inventor friendly in my opinion. Also he is their filtering system. Which means they’re not really serious working with us inventors. But please note some industries are going to have to see a prototype. The toy industry is one and at times the kitchen industry as well.

@@inventRight Thank you Andrew, yes that's great and the most of them tell the same thing. So now it's time to dive in head first and do it! :-) I have a passion for failing so in the end it will be fine! Thanks team InventRight, you rule!
Thank you Stephen :) I particularly like to use the "Frankenstein" model to express my ideas. In this model it is possible to use existing images from the Google image bank. Recently, Courtney taught about it here on the channel.
Could you do a video on patenting board games and/or what legal advice we should do such as selling the idea etc.? I have a lot of board games I created that have been very popular but, I don’t not know where to start.
Hello Miguel. You should watch last weeks webinar at inventors groups of America. It was all about board games. To gain access all you have to do is sign up.

I have a scale model car invention I've worked on for some years now. Im in need of finding the next step to mass produce and have a team of 3D designers help me design more cars for production. Have contacted multiple companies locally for plastic injection molding but have been turned down saying what I'm trying to accomplish is too complicated ...
Work on presenting it without having to have a finished prototype. And you do not need injection molding of any kind as your licensee would do that. - Andrew Krauss, inventRight Co-Founder
I have an idea for OXO, I wonder what the royalty potential is for them… On a more ambitious note I have a board game for Hasbro! I know of the Spark program but that’s only available in the USA, where I am in Canada. Any ideas?
Hi Sasha, Yeah, i've always found it a bit odd that Hasbro will only accept ideas through their portal from US inventors. I litterally have never seen that personally as a requirment with any other portal. - Andrew Krauss, inventRight Co-Founder
Hi sir I am dyslexic person, on a daily basis my mind think totally innovative idea, but my question how can I implement? I am middle class person so who can burrows my idea and implement.
Hello, I have a cool idea. But don't know how to pitch it. It's a simple yet cool idea for Jeep enthusiasts. How do I start this process and make sure noone takes the idea from me?
Hi Darryl, Take a look here at our programs inventright.com/services/ then book a call with one of our advisors here. inventright.com/contact/#schedule-consult Both Sylvia and Dana are super friendly, straightforward and not at all pushy, so go ahead and book and they'll talk to you about how we can help. - Andrew Krauss, inventRight Co-Founder

@@stephenkey3137 Thank you Stephen, I thought that was the case. I just hope he doesn't steal my designs though....😞
He might be many things but he’s not in the business of stealing. If your product is easy to prototype you might consider it.
Thank you Stephen for all the information and knowledge that you shared so creative.
My pleasure thank you for watching!

Absolutely!
Stephen, would you say luck, experience, and who you knew, played a role in your success?
I would say persistence. It’s not who you know. Also I had a great mentor.

Maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong. When you’re first starting out I think it’s best to find something that’s a little easier.

OXO is a great company. They work with many outside designers and inventors.
Find another company besides Hasbro,
