I really like this update on paper at least, I think they are feeling some pressure from Way of the Hunter to do things right. Which is great for us, two amazing hunting games to play instead of one!
ive definitley noticed certain animals seem to be wearing kevlar, .223 poly can reach both lungs on a black tail in game, but barely scrapes the first lung of a roebuck.
i honestly kinda wanted to see an old, single shot, like 45-70 or 454. something like the 470 with one shot but you can put a scope on it, even if it’s low power
The Rangemaster has been one of my favorite Buffalo/Bison rifles for a long time, and now hunting them will be a lot more enjoyable when I can get more than one or two at a time. I can't wait for this update.
.338 should beat it out in EVERYTHING. it is designed for nothing but long range shots with high pen and high expansion. hence why the military uses it as well
My real life 338 Winchester Magnum has a vary beautiful red wood wooden stock and almost chrome finish on the barrel and the bolt and trigger gard and a bright red blade on the trigger no recoil pad and I got a red dot I don't care if it's over kill but it's good for dropping more than one hog or deer
The 7mm is my favourite caliber but I stopped using it. Because of the single round capacity! I’m stoked for the bolt action. Also might use the .338 if it has better ballistics past 400m. I can constantly shoot the .300 that far. In terms of load outs I use the .300, hawk edge 70lb bow, 243 pistol, 12 gauge pump shotgun.
Thanks for the update on the new dlc! Wish they would have done a Browning BAR in 7mm with 5 rounds. I’m on the fence with this weapon pack. The only advantage is not having to worry about switching rifles.
BAR? That rifle is in .30-06 though. I think an HCAR would be the better option there anyway. It's pretty much the same rifle, but modernized and probably easier to acquire.
@@longdarn It seems to have been chambered in a few of the cartridges from WWII. It seems to have been chambered in .30-06, .303 British, 8mm Mauser, and 6.5x55.
Really should be an overhaul on most calibers. Even cup-and-core soft-points, nowadays, have the ability to get double lung at 100m, in reality. So the bonded bullets (Which would be the polymer tips in-game) should be able to do it even further out. Also, a lot of bonded bullets work like soft-points, so the have both high penetration and expansion, so maybe those as an ammunition addition(?). Overall, I can't wait to get the pack, but as written, I've been questioning the ammunition balancing for a while. A 308 having almost the same pen as a 338, what? Also, the addition to see the approximate distance when detecting an animal, didn't that just make the pistol perk "Ranger" inadequate? Is it only the rifle perk tree that've been overhauled, or other perk trees also?
I just got to say it the 338 7mm and the lodge are where this weapon pack shines the 308 is getting forgotten about what is understandable when we got a 308 assault rifle already
Imo the .300 is superior to the .338. I loved the .338 till i bought the .300 (its accuracy is spot on even at long range where the .338 has a slight veer off to the left usually). I used the 7mm alot but i replaced it with the .308. I basicly pack 4 rifles 3 guns 😅, .22H hornet .223 ar .308 ar .300 10mm pistol .454 pistol .22LR pistol. The .22LR pistol is easy birds/rabbits up close/flying close where the .22H is used at long range. The .223 is low/middle and the .308 is middle/high and .300 is just high game. 10mm/.454 self defence/up close for more fun since all i can do at lvl 60 is hunt trophies/uncover more of the maps. I basicly only use poly rounds except the .454 since i still need more handgun xp (the bisons on silver ridge peak are feeling that)
Assuming the same bullet and fired from the same gun, hits from longer distance penetrate more than close shots. At least in real life. I think the dev's understanding of terminal ballistics is slightly flawed.
@@Flintergaming awesome. I can’t wait for that part. I have to say I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get a new caliber with this update. I feel like the .308 should have been something different.
The 338 remains a disappointment. If they fix this with a .375 that gets 65 pen and 30 exp I'll forgive them for the imbalance. The .454 remains my most trusted most used option besides the bow. I don't want a tracking simulator, I want a casual hunting simulator that's a little bit more arcade-y and fun.
They need to rework most rifles, the .300 40 penetration and the .308 45 penetration thats not normal, and also the new .338 should have 50 penetation, and the .300 should have 45 penetration, they should make real damage and penetrarion bullets its, a simulator game....
Don't forget he will be streaming this on Twitch 1pm EST and another video will be coming out today at 5 pm EST :P && the Power Pack drops on 3/14

If you have a PC or next gen console.
a buff to the .338 to make it stand out more as compared to the .300 would be nice!
300 should have higher pen then the 30-06 and 308 also. But now those calibers gave the upper end over the 300, regarding pen.
ive definitley noticed certain animals seem to be wearing kevlar, .223 poly can reach both lungs on a black tail in game, but barely scrapes the first lung of a roebuck.
7mm Bolt is by far my favorite thing here. The 7mm is a go to of mine as a break action.

Anyone notice the reload animation at 3:44? That's a neat little variation
I managed to get TWO Diamond Mooses within ten minutes of each other on Yukon. Now I want a Great One! I'm committed to this thanks to you Flinter!
You should do a 300 vs 338 video

Looks great I just think the moose are crazy tough and they have so much meat to go through
The graphic thing over that bear rug could show us what GO is next because all the other GOs are on there
I can't wait for that Bolt action 7mm
I hope they keep revamping skills and perks, some of the skills/perks really got no reason to pick it
What duck luck!
That new distance spotting is gonna be nice 👌🏽
😅 no more shooting blind
So is the distance estimator the game changing addition?

For me though everytime I try and play it resets the ammo to 0 for the 7mm and .338

The Browning BAR comes in several calibers. A 7mm BAR would be great.

How do you get traps Eurasian wigeon Because it is not found in the weapon store
Nice video, I think it’ll be fun to use these guns if I get the weapon pack…

Maybe a trail camera hint?

Not an assault rifle, it's semi-automatic. If it was full auto, it wouldn't be an assault rifle, it would be a battle rifle.
For long range deer hunting I prefer the 7m otherwise .308 if there's a lot then if I can get close I prefer the bow

I got a job orientation at 2 my time an this is amazing time killer, looking to get into this game more!!
what camo is on the 308? i love it!
Flinter Please I wanna know too
Just got this power pack I can’t wait to use this on some euro bison
the 7mm is a beast. I'm looking forward to pig and bear hunting with it.
Most guns once they hit long actions they drop to 3 rounds my 338 is 3 shots and my 6.5 is 4 shots
Is there a limit on the amount of loadouts?
Yes ten
i’ve noticed since i first started playing this game that moose are just tanks honestly
I love drinking coffee and looking out a window while listening to these videos.
My fiancé does that too 😂 just drinking coffee zoning out while I talk
@@Flintergaming Glad I ain't the only one 😅
I hate how they made it to where it’s harder to find animals because now all the people that are bad at the game can’t find any animals to get better
that 338 looks just like sako trg
I am gonna be using the 308 and 338 a lot the 7m I might
what is the new spook range??
I’d say about or a little over 200m
holy holy holy, im here early
Congrats on the cinnamon teal, im still torn whether to get the pack or not!
We will be testing it more so I’ll decide if it’s really worth buying or not 😄
Will this be a dlc you have to pay for?
Spook radius?
Controller can’t rebind keys
When does this drop
14th of March 😄
The real test for the new .338 would be against Cape Buffalo, the real concrete slabs of the animal kingdom

The 338 has always been in the game LOL
love the vids been watching from day 1 keep it up
The loadouts are coming to console too aren’t they?
Yes

From what I’ve seen from all the streamers. The penetration on these new “power pack” guns are terrible for what they should be.

Yo this looks sick
7mm will be the best weapon in the game
They didn't even add a Tankgewehr. lame.
(this is a joke, so don't get you knot in a twist)
Woohoo!! Very nice
I don’t see any benefit to the .338 to the .300 , the .300 still looks to be more powerful
FLINTER I LOVE YOU
So cool
Hi Flinter
Hai
The .470 is the most powerful rifle in the game, not the .338.
They nerfed the 300
Moose aren’t that tuff irl
Hi flinter
Hi 👋🏻
Love vids keep up the good work
Yea the 338 needs more pen. When the 308 and 7mm is right there it makes the 338 useless.
Something seems off about the .338, very underwhelming performance.
How does bro have $20 million
