Calvin always somehow manages to cling to life just enough to eek a win using the strongest tool in white's playbook, gaining just enough life. What a hero.
I felt bad for the targeting on Ttrgr this game, but not Shroom. He knew what he was doing and did it with a smile. Though I'd love to see a version of Shrooms deck that dabbled in the strangeness of things like making Ivy other kinds of permanents.
This is correct. But you can generate mana that's outside of your color identity now. So without getting too pedantic and them figuring that most people know the rules of the game if they're watching this kind of content, it's just easier to say "it taps for colorless" instead of saying "it taps for red, white or black but since my commander is blue and green it can't make use of those colors so will effectively tap for colorless"
I’m playing Tor vpn… we’re trying to get to the dark web 😂😂😂 5 min later, I’m going to go into my extra deck and synchro summon, by sacrificing my Ivy and my Llanowar Elves I can synchro summon a Goyo Guardian 🙃

They are space Nazi. It's not ambiguous. Wizards has literally released a statement to reinforce it because people keep idolising fascism in wh40k for some reason.
Unpopular opinions. Magic cards should continue to look like Magic cards without a thousand different card frames and art styles. WOTC should not have begun selling small sets, of mostly in-demand reprints, for short limited time frames online. Many products are now geared for “whale” buyers and are priced out of many fans’ budgets. WOTC is scheduling and releasing so many new Magic products that many players can’t keep up and have no time to fully “digest” a product before the next set is released and stretching budgets thin. The core of the game has gone from a largely “player’s game” to a largely “collector’s game.” Crazy mechanics and themes like those that have appeared previously in silver-bordered “Un” sets should stay out of eternal formats. “Un” sets should remain silver-bordered. Characters from outside WOTC owned properties should remain their own things and stay out of Magic: the Gathering. WOTC has made these changes to sell more product and make more money, trying to capitalize on the fact that Commander has eclipsed all other formats. Many products look like blatant cash grabs. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Magic has drastically changed direction over the last four years and it is not appealing to me now. It’s lost the nostalgia that brought me back in 2016. I’m not about “New Magic” and this Saturday, a week before the first widely available Universes Beyond set and the first black-bordered “un” set is released, I let my Commander playgroup know that it was my last day. I love Magic too much to watch it change like this after so long. And I refuse to be “that guy” who has a list of Magic sets he refuses to play with in my opponents’ decks. I’m just done. I’ll find another gaming hobby. Maybe Warhammer? Games Workshop wins, Wizards loses?
Mutating over ivy with herontail changes her name, the sawtooth couldn't of been copied because it needs to target ivy specifically and cannot because her name changed.
@@chedddargoblin oh I see, well damn I would have won so many other games with her. Thats the ruling my friends and myself have been following, time to change that. Thanks

They weren’t keeping track of Ivy commander damage. Even though she is mutated it is commander damage.

How come Ivys hits are not being considered commander damage? From what I’ve read she’s still considered commander even with the mutations overlaid 🤔
As someone with a newly built Severina deck, this episode made me :)
always good to watch calvin crawl painfully into a victory from practically no life. gives me hope.
same
Calvin at 2 life, "So you're saying there's a chance..."
the fact that they have a second copy of each card cast with ivy.........fucking hell
OH MAH GAWD CALVIN DID IT. THE LINGERING SOULS DECK IS HERE.

@5:39 Ironically, JLK played Tor Wauki on a recent Game Knights.
That's why he said it was JLK's fault.

Mutating over ivy with herontail changes her name, the sawtooth couldn't of been copied because it needs to target ivy specifically and cannot because her name changed.
Woah, that's a really interesting point, you'd have to mutate everything underneath Ivy to make it work
In fact, that changes everything -- mutating the heron over Ivy made it impossible to copy anything else, if I'm understanding it correctly
No, when mutating the name in the textbox will change as well. Any card referencing itself will continue to reference itself if its name changes

That is and has been a pretty big part of the channel's brand. In general, I like the life it adds to the games.
