I love how Brian acts towards Vince in this movie. Always staying non-aggressive, never giving Vince the anger he wants and always remaining neutral. In their first encounter at the shop Brian even leaves before the situation escalates, not saying a word, and only fights back after he’s hit first. Then again here, Brian doesn’t say a word, but he remains unintimidated and stays the bigger man over Vince just by actions alone, but never causing hostility. Even saves his life at the end of the film without asking for anything. Brian truly was a role model in this film
He was trying not to blow his cover. Vince may have been a d*ck but he wasn’t stupid; he saw right through Brian and that he was a cop. Liking Mia wasn’t the only reason for Vince not liking Brian. The fact that Brian is a cop makes it pretty justified… until he ends up saving their lives later

They use the excuse “the race movies didn’t make us as much money” that was in the beginning of the franchise, but now that it’s grown? I bet those movies will blow the action out of the water. Universal will never go back to street racing for one movie just to return back to action, they’re sticking with action with a little bit of car culture for the last set of movies they have planned. The fast movies weren’t really all about street racing anyway, the only one that was purely street racing was Tokyo Drift, every other one had a main purpose, whether it be catching a criminal who heists trucks for money, a cartel boss, or another cartel boss…and another, etc. The only difference between the original fast movies is that street racing played a more important role in the story, and the action was way more grounded and realistic at times, that’s it.
