I think between Lucifer and Michael its a close match. Hence why the battle between them is supposed to be so important that they spend so much time preparing for it.

Everyone assumes falsely that a being like Death here would kill you for irritating him. The fact of the matter is, you basically can't irritate him. His analogy is exactly right. He could literally just be wherever you aren't if you really somehow irritated him. He has no real reason to kill you because that would cause undue headache for him, as it goes against his purpose. He takes people when they are supposed to die, and he can executive decision not to take them. There's literally nothing stopping him from simply killing everyone instantly, so why would he kill you for back talking him?

Imagine meeting someone who has a job, and that's what they care about. They don't concern themselves with nonsense or mentally taxing drama and drivel. And when they do, they want to get rid of it and get back to work. If you've met someone like this in your life, you might fear them like Dean does. They of course, couldn't care less. The best character in the whole show. The end of supernatural being good was the death of death. It was going downhill for a minute but death’s death was truly the end.

Thanos might have snapped trillions away into oblivion. But these lives were only the onces who were there at that time. We don't even have a word for the number of lives Death claimed to become one with him.

I think going into the encounter Dean assumes that Death will act much like the other horsemen, who were just demons given extra powers, and just try to kill him for what was an obvious attempt on his life. I don't think Dean fully appreciated what exactly he was walking into until the scythe returned to Death's side and Death barely acknowledging him. Being told you're going to face Death and actually facing Death are two different things entirely.

I hate that the retconned death to be weaker then god later in the series. I love the idea that he was an entity outside of christianity that simply is. He exists, and will ultimately ensure that everything (include god) someday won't. Its just role nothing more nothing less and no one escapes it.
Honestly, rewatching some of these clips, I enjoyed it immensely when someone would put Dean in his damn place. He was always mouthing off, and while I know that is part of his charm, it wasn't always appropriate. He seemed far too arrogant, many times he was disrespectful, so assured in his abilities as a hunter, which to be fair he was quite skilled, but there were entities out there that just seemed to be beyond his skill set. Death being the primary one and earlier Castiel being another. Why they had to defang the angel, so to speak, I'll never understand. I stopped watching after they got the bunker and it just got too lame, in my opinion. Should have stopped at the end of season 5.

Never watched this show, so no idea why im getting recommended this clip.
But if the entire show is like this one scene, i might just start.
First five are, after that it's a little meh.
First five seasons for certain. 1st is a bit erratic. But start picking up in season 2. Really gets good in season 3 to 5
