I really do wanna love the zwei but am inclined to agree with ya here. I don’t see why they can’t at least give it a little less of a penalty to movement speed. But if they really wanted to get weird with it, they should give the mouse 2 attack on the zwei block frames. I always thought the big sweeps you do look like a sort of parry, and it would be cool to charge in and use that attack and anyone that tries to swing against it has the experience of hitting a shield. I also really think despite having as many perks as he already does, barb would benefit at least in terms of fun factor from a sword specialization peek, something that increases action speed when using a sword would shake up build variety a bit, perhaps.
@@alexc7789 It's mostly about patience and swing manipulation. Swinging too early can make you easy to dodge, and swinging without any kind of manipulation can cause you to miss or hit something (Which can be an easy way to die).
from experience, the zwei is really good in ruins since it's a really open map and the probability of running through a corridor is slim to none unless you're underground. although the movespeed penalty is a bit harsh imo but achilles sort of solves that issue. (also i am now adding Bard-ee-shay to my vocabulary)
I have no idea how they would make the hatchet useable. I'd love if it could be used alongside a viking sword or horseman because the dual-attack combo is pretty good from memory, and thematically it'd be fun, but losing that much movement from using two weapons just can't work on barbarian right now. And if they reduced it's movement penalty much the meta would be downright silly
Just my personal opinion, but I think when pairing two weapons, you should only suffer the largest penalty between both of them. That way dual wielding has an innate benefit. I would absolutely run hatchet off-hand if they did that.
@@finfen9730 If they did that then people would run offhand whatever stat bonuses were best and carry it just for them, not even using it most of the time probably, or vice versa. They'd be all "the attack pattern of the horseman's just has more hurt-frames and range than the hatchet so it's best to just only hold it for the +all atri" or whatever the case would end up being. Although that's still probably a better situation than what it is right now anyway
@@jeremycorbin2178 well sure... if they keep the design the way it is currently. The way dual wielding needs to work is a left click needs to be a doubleswing. We have some form of it already but it only works for specific weapons and holding down left+right click. That'll also fix silly stuff like barbarian's perk granting a viking sword bonus damage because he has a hatchet in the off-hand. Heck, they could even get crazy with it so using your right click could use specific attacks in your strings, like an arming sword's attack 3 after the initial left click.

if you don't miss your swings, felling axe is S tier, nothing can come close to its output and dps, but if you miss one swing, you're probably toast
Yeah Felling Axe is a skill check of a weapon but with enough gear and practice you can easily melt people.

Let me help you out there, amigo. Bardiche: "Bar-Deesh". Excellent video. Subbed
I know. I do it on purpose. :^)
Get fancy with it and say "Bard-ee-shay" and watch now one correct you. Live it up fam why not

YUP.
As a fellow war maul propagandist i mostly agree with this list, viking sword is by far the best wep for barb
Only used war maul a little, but the swing radius feels about as bad as the zwei. Any tips?

Should Viking sword or maul be used for pve?
When should you use one or the other?
PvE I'd use the VS. Maul is specifically for PvP against Fighter, Barbarian, etc. VS in PvP for faster / light armored targets.
